DC Universe is in big trouble right now as after delivering 6 back to back box office bombs, Blue Beetle is all set to be the 7th one with just $125M Worldwide Gross so far. Although WB already made a bold move by entirely discontinuing the DCEU and handing its reign to James Gunn and Peter Safran last year, bad time isn’t over for the studio yet. In fact after Blue Beetle, Aquaman 2 is also projected to be a huge box office bomb after poor test screening results. So, only with the release of James Gunn’s DCU’s first film Superman: Legacy, can we expect things to start falling in place for DC. Although it is still quite far away, plot details for the film have now apparently started to leak.

Since, the film is in early stages of the production, not much is known about the plot of the film. However, the official plot synopsis reads – “Superman: Legacy tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.” Aside from this, the film will introduce us to many DC characters including Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, Krypto, and Mister Terrific.
Also, some of the characters introduced in Legacy will later play a major role in the DCU film The Authority. The film will also see the return of Lex Luthor, the iconic Superman villain. Now moving to the latest plot leaks by Viewer Anon who has a track record of being quite reliable most of the times. According to him, he’s heard some stuff about SUPERMAN: LEGACY and trusts the source but made it clear that this stuff is always fuzzy. So here’s goes nothing.
In the film, Superman’s apparently early in his career and isn’t widely known by the public. His big public reveal happens in the Middle East, where terrorists have gotten ahold of Kryptonian tech. As it happens this particular point has already been debunked by James Gunn a few hours ago. Moving on, Waller and Sam Lane send in the Authority to investigate – they believe Superman is responsible. Superman learned of the tech in the Fortress of Solitude and hopes it will be the missing puzzle piece to discover where he comes from. Anyways, the big bad of the film is a Brainiac behind everything.
Fans took no time to compare this to other projects and state that it seems like an amalgam of Iron Man (2008) and Black Adam (2022). Although, Gunn has refused some part of these leaks, do you think these might end up being true after all? Let us know below!
