Ezra Miller…have you heard this name? Let me enlighten you. They were part of the 2017 & 2021’s Justice League were they portrayed the character of The Flash. Miller unlike other DC actors were not replaced or sidelined by Warner Bros. execs. and he was made DC’s long term Flash. DC was looking to settle down and manage their unbalanced universe as they put faith in Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Zachary Levi’s Shazam! and Ezra Miller’s Flash. However, Miller had different plans for 2022, and they were in the news for all the wrong reasons. The actor reportedly committed a ton of serious offences including a felony. This reflected badly on Warner Bros. as the actor was still their Flash even if they were a criminal. In fact, even when fans were furious at Miller’s action, their place in the DC was safe.
This is how you tolerate criminal offences, something Disney should learn. Regardless, after creating such a mess, Miller simply released a statement apologizing their actions and promising to work on their mental health. I mean, this is the same person who allegedly kidnapped a bunch of kids and took them to a farmhouse. After this statement, The Flash movie was releasing and according to the recent reports, Warner Bros. execs feel comfortable to Ezra Miller as The Flash in the newly formed DCU formed by James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, they were quick to recast Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot. As it seemed like Warner Bros’ troubles regarding Ezra Miller were behind them this recent update will certainly make a lot of WB execs nervous as Ezra Miller pleads guilty following felony burglary charge.
The Flash: Ezra Miller’s Criminal Charges Explained!
In their upcoming hearing at the Bennington County Superior criminal court, Ezra Miller is set for a change of plea according to VT Digger. The actor was found guilty of the charges and was sentenced to a total of 26 years in prison and over $2000 in fines in October 2022. Miller plead not guilty for burglary of empty residence and petty larceny as it was reported that they’d broke in into a close by house and stole three alcohol bottles. However, the recent report filed before the hearing reveals that the actor is pleading guilty to only one charge.
Unlawful trespassing. The above incidents were described by Miller to the police as, they were in the cooking house with their mother and grabbed ingredients from the house of a close childhood friend and a bottle of wine. Miller told the police that the homeowner was informed ahead of time by their mother and hence everything was legal. However, the homeowner denied Miller’s claims in a statement to the police. Under the new plea agreement, the two above mentioned charges of Burglary and Petty Larceny will be dropped.
However, the actor is expected to be jailed for 89-90 days for unlawful trespassing and will be placed in probation for a year. A fine of $500 and $192 will also be imposed as surcharge. This is definitely going to affect the Flash movie as the film is just 6 months away from release. The actor’s involvement in the publicity of the film will be limited but I think everyone is on the internet these days. This will possibly have a negative effect on Ezra Miller’s stay as the Flash in the DCU. Gunn and Safran might replace him after all. Hopefully we’re updated soon.
Andres Muschietti (IT) will helm The Flash, and Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, Batgirl) will pen the story. Additionally, it will feature the Bruce Wayne/Batman characters played by Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu as Nora Allen, Ian Loh as a young Barry Allen, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson and Rudy Mancuso in unspecified roles.
The Flash is slated for a theatrical release on June 23, 2023.
