The sequel to 2018’s Black Panther – Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forevertrailer promises an emotional and handcrafted film. The film looks like a somber and cerebral affair along with being an action-heavy adventure with vivid colors. Needless, to say the film already looks way better than any Marvel content that we’ve gotten this year. I have full faith in Coogler to provide us with an emotional, heartbreaking, layered and an old school Marvel film. The film will cover the aftermath of T’Challa’s death. The film will see characters like Shuri, Queen Ramonda, Nakia, Okoye and M’Baku returning from the first film. However, along with returning characters there is another question that haunts the film. Who will be the next Black Panther.
While the trailers hinted at Shuri being the new Black Panther we were not sure because there were many rumors and and speculation that there are more than one Black Panthers in the film. However, all these questions that we have will only be answered when the film releases next week. However, we have gotten numerous leaks regarding the film and most of them are regarding the post credit scene. So, let’s what does that mean for the MCU in the longer run.
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever Introduces a New Heir To Wakanda!
According to new leak from Reddit, the post credit scene of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is: “It’s moments after Shuri burns her clothes. Nakia approaches and reveals her son (like 5) she had with T’Challa before the blip. They agreed on him to be raised away from the pressures of being a king. While initially shocked, Shuri has very emotional response and begins bonding with him, happy to have family. It ends with him revealing his wakandan name is T’challa. Shuri cries but also smiles with Nakia. Let me just say it’s a fairly long scene and there’s no edge of “OH LOOK A NEW BLACK PANTHER”. It’s truly treated as an emotional end for the film.”
Before the film’s release, there was a rumor that the film will introduce Doctor Doom in the MCU in the form of a post credit scene. However, after the premiere it was clear that Doctor Doom doesn’t feature in the film, unless Marvel has a secret scene that they haven’t showcased it to the audiences yet. The post credit scene of the film introduces Azari T’Challa who is T’Challa’s son in the comics. However, in the comics he was the son of king T’Challa known as the Black Panther and the mutant Ororo Monroe known as Storm.
Although, I think MCU will just change that. Whether he’ll take the mantle of Black Panther or not, that is something to be seen. He is very young so unless Marvel takes a huge leap we won’t see a new Black Panther after Shuri anytime soon.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated to release on 11th November 2022.
