Deadpool 3 is probably the only Marvel movie that fans are truly excited about. The only reason fans have hopes from Deadpool 3 is because Ryan Reynolds won’t let his favorite character down. Hugh Jackman’s return as the Wolverine is an added bonus. After acquiring Fox, Disney has realized the potential of Deadpool’s character and the massive IP it holds. Hence, to not ruin the character in any sense and repeat the box office success of the previous two Deadpool films, Disney stepped out of their comfort zone and announced that Deadpool 3, just like its predecessor would be rated R. Preservation of what worked for Fox, keeps fans hopes alive that Deadpool 3 will indeed be a solid threequel in the Deadpool franchise. The threequel doesn’t just mark the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine but also Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and is a new rumor is to be believed then Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will also be a part of Deadpool 3 in a “secret” role.
Deadpool 3: What Role Is Daniel Radcliffe Playing?
Daniel Radcliffe was fancasted many times as MCU’s Wolverine, however, after Hugh Jackman came out of his superhero retirement, the casting of Radcliffe as Wolverine was not possible anymore. That being said, it looks like if not Wolverine then Marvel does have another role for the Harry Potter star. Scooper Daniel Richtman teased us that the British actor has been cast in Deadpool 3 alongside Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in a secret role. Which role? At the moment we have no updates about the same but I’m sure more information will be available soon.
Director Shawn Levy recently gave us an update on Deadpool 3’s production. He claimed that the filming was halfway done before the SAG-AFTRA strike began. Levy said, “It was a joy every day, and that chemistry is, I have to say — spoiler alert — as relentlessly awesome as we had all hoped it would be. But, we are halfway through filming,” he said. Levy went to tease what fans can expect from Marvel Studios’ first R-rated movie, teasing its use of practical sets. He added, “Our movie is raw, audacious, very much R-rated. We went to great lengths to not shoot it on sound stages with digital environments.”
Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rhett Rheese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells and Reynolds himself. This accounts Levy’s third collaboration with Reynolds after previously working on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The film’s supporting cast will include returning Deadpool cast Karan Soni as Dopinder, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.
Deadpool 3 is slated to release on May 3rd 2024 in MCU’s Phase 6.
