Aquaman 2 trailer was a pending matter for a long time. Despite debuting in theatres in just over a hundred days from now, we had no official footage from the film. No marketing campaign had started. For context, Aquaman (2018) grossed over a billion dollars and remains DCEU’s highest grosser. So, despite the sequel being a failure amongst test audiences, I don’t think so Warner Bros. won’t promote it at all. After all, it is the sequel to DC’s only billion dollar film since The Dark Knight Rises (2012). You never know what sticks with the audience. Based on some events, I’d predicted that Aquaman 2’s trailer had to release before October 1st. It looks like I was right, as Warner Bros. has finally released the first official teaser for the sequel.
Black Manta Pledges To Destroy Aquaman In New Teaser!
The new teaser is only 30 seconds long and acts as tease to the upcoming trailer which will release in 4 days time. For the USA, that means Aquaman 2 trailer will debut on 14th September in the evening and for India, the official trailer will be available on the morning of September 15th. Based on the 30 seconds alone, I can say that the visuals of the film look awfully good. There is a rich color palette that explores the infinite fauna of the ocean. Black Manta played by Yahya Abdul Mateen II, has pledged to destroy everything dear to Aquaman.
We see that Arthur Curry’s house by the ocean has been set on fire by someone and based on Curry’s reaction, his father might be trapped inside it. We also get a glimpse of Amber Heard’s Mera and Patrick Wilson’s Orm aka Ocean Master. Wilson appeared in a black suit which was leaked to us from a toy merchandise. If there was not so much negativity around the sequel already, maybe this teaser would’ve been received better but it looks like audiences have already made up their mind about the sequel based on the negative reports.
