Marvel is really looking to get some serious star power for their Fantastic Four iteration. Be it the scouting of talented actors like Adam Driver, Margot Robbie and even Paul Mescal for the Human Torch tells us the kind of talent Marvel is in search for the reboot. Reportedly, Marvel Studios also offered the role of Galactus to Denzel Washington. Industry insider, Grace Randolph reported that the Hollywood legend reportedly refused the offer from Marvel. An actor of Denzel’s capacity could’ve really brought Galactus to life. However, he has refused to play the iconic Marvel villain in the Matt Shakman’s directorial venture. However, Denzel isn’t the only actor to turn down a role of the studio as after pursuing Margot Robbie for a while, the studio got nothing as she isn’t interested to be their Sue Storm. Marvel’s search for Mrs. Fantastic has brought them to the doorstep of Vanessa Kirby.
Fantastic Four: Margot Robbie Out, Vanessa Kirby In?
The Fantastic Four reboot has had its fair share of ups and downs. The Matt Shakman reboot is in search of its actors for a while now. It seems like Marvel has knocked on everyone’s door but no one has confirmed yet or Marvel isn’t confirming anything with us. So, while we wait for getting the final cast of the Fantastic Four reboot, it seems like Marvel has narrowed down its search of Sue Storm to Vanessa Kirby after being turned down by Margot Robbie and Jodie Comer.
The actress seems to be the top choice now alongside Adam Driver. It is also rumored that Kirby was always the first choice for Matt Shakman. Kirby’s breakout performance came in The Crown and ever since then she has done numerous roles that showcases her acting prowess. A good example of the same is Netflix’s Pieces of a Woman which earned her an Academy Award nomination. So, her inclusion in the MCU would definitely be a valuable addition. She might just bring in some lady luck that MCU so desperately needs. Please consider this a rumor for now as neither Kirby nor Marvel Studios has made any comments on the matter.
The Fantastic Four reboot is slated to release in theatres on May 2nd 2025.
