The Guardians saga is ending with the third installment of the franchise. James Gunn had made it very clear that the Guardians was always supposed to be trilogy and the 2023 will be his final film. Now, as it turns out this might just be Gunn’s last film for Marvel as he has now become the DC boss. The film has been garnering amazing reviews, best since Endgame. The opening weekend collections for Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 3 are somewhere between $110 million and $130 million. The ending of the film has been rendering fans emotional, so much so that they didn’t want the film to end. The film’s world and characters were so rich that fans aren’t ready to be over them. Many demanded James Gunn to make another sequel despite his clarification. The filmmaker has reacted to the fans’ demands.
Will There Be A Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4?
James Gunn was recently asked by Esquire Middle East whether he is open to make another Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. The filmmaker was rather positive towards the question, Gunn expressed he will be open to a sequel provided there is a new team and a new director attached to the project. Gunn said, “I don’t think there will ever be a ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4.’ There’s many reasons this group will not be back. There could be more ‘Guardians’ movies, but it won’t be with this group.”
Gunn further revealed, “I think as long as somebody brings themselves to it, and doesn’t just try to copy that style—I think it can be really amazing. And there’s so many directors I would like to do that. And I would love to see it happen.”
