She-Hulk Episode 2 Review – Bad CGI Continues

She-Hulk Early Reviews Roundup - Positive As Usual With MCU Pre-screenings

Even though it looks better than the trailer, the CGI of this show is still really bad and frankly She-Hulk animation doesn’t look believable or realistic. But being a TV show which never promised a good CGI to begin with, we can let that slide. However, even if we consider rest of the things, the episode was almost on the exact same level as the first one. Episode 2 tried to showcase the non-superhero life struggles of Jennifer Walters which added some much needed to heart to the show.

But this episode has problems of its own. To begin with, it has no action at all but we can let that slide too as it tried to set up what’s to come. Another issue is that even at the end of the second episode, we have no antagonist nor were we introduced to any considerable stakes. However, the good thing is that the basic origin of She-Hulk has been wrapped up already and that leaves us 7 episodes for the show to introduce a real threat and increase the stakes. So, this show has a lot of potential and how it turns out totally depends on where it chooses to go from here.

The Show Enters Shang Chi Timeline With Abomination and Wong

The best part of this episode was Jen’s interaction with Emil Blonsky (alter ego Abomination) and the final scene which tied the show to Shang Chi. Yes that’s right, She-Hulk officially crossed over with Shang Chi and tied directly to its Underworld Fighting Ring sequence. Fans might remember the sequence just before Shang Chi met his sister. In that sequence we received a glimpse of Wong taking on Abomination in one of the fighting rings. That scene is what plays in the news at the end of this episode.

So, it is pretty much official that we will get to see Wong in the next episode of She-Hulk. Now the question is whether Shang Chi and She-Hulk took place before the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or later. We’ll find that out pretty soon as the next episode is all set to debut just 4 days from now. Another important thing to note in this episode is the sneaky cameo of Wolverine which you can read about here.
