She Hulk Episode 7 Review – Improved CGI and Those Weirdly Funny Supes
Credit where credit is due, this week’s She-Hulk episode was much better than the previous 3 really bad episodes. I ranted a lot against them but today’s episode was considerably good. Not only did it involve a lot of character growth for Jen, but it also had some genuinely warm moments along with one little twist. That aside, this episode was actually funny at times unlike its predecessors. The conversation between Jen and Blonsky’s support group was really cool and helped in Jen’s character development.
So, we were introduced to El Águila, Man-Bull, Porcupine, and Saracen, and even though their costumed looked worse than cosplay, they were weirdly funny. Kids would have surely laughed a lot, but certain punches they made are bound to make adults chuckle as well. The funniest part was probably Saracen slipping blood in every sentence and the best part was Jen finally expressing herself freely. And boy, was I really impressed with the CGI of She-Hulk in this scene. Honestly, in this particular scene, she looked more real than even Hulk ever did. So, kudos to the designers for that as it was really and honestly impressive! That aside, the cinematography and locations in this She Hulk episode were just mesmerizing, so again, well done.
The Plot Thickens
I can’t say I saw that Josh twist coming as I honestly didn’t. I instead thought that maybe the guy in Blonsky’s support group would steal her blood sample the moment she reverted back to Jen. So, while I was thinking that this episode was shaping up to be another “Men are dogs” episode, I was pleasantly surprised. Not that it was a mind-bending twist or anything, but we’ve all come to expect less from this show which seemed like a joke till now. It surely has levelled up a bit in this episode, but it still miles away from being good.
Anyways, it seems like Josh has extracted her blood sample, copied her phone’s data, and then ghosted her. He was seen texting to “HulkKing”, the organization or we saw at the end of the previous episode. It might be a project name or person as well, but we have no idea what it is as of now. So, the plot has thickened and we hope that the final two episodes manage to turn this show around. That leaves us with the matter of Daredevil who doesn’t make an appearance in this episode and will most probably be in the next one. His cameo in episode 8 would make the most sense as the finale should belong to She-Hulk and the main plot, unless he plans on being a part of the final battle.
Final Verdict – She Hulk Episode 7 tries to undo the damage previous episodes did with a much improved CGI, slightly improved narrative, and some genuine character development. That said, it was surely better than its predecessors but it still had its issues and writing remains still the biggest of them all.
