The Mandalorian Season 3 Paz Vizla Death Praetorian Guards

Disney Plus and Star War’s flagship show The Mandalorian is back with its highly anticipated season 3. This season of Mando has been widely disappointing so far, to say in the least. While there were some good episodes like Episode 2 and 4, rest were either mediocre or bad. Bad is something we didn’t expect from The Mandalorian but Episode 6 was the absolute worst of the series so far. Anyways, I am happy to inform you that Episode 7 has finally redeemed this season and taken us back to the glory days of this series. So, read on to catch our in-depth review of The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7 below but beware that some MAJOR SPOILERS follow below! Review Marathon – Episode 1 / Episode 2 / Episode 3 / Episode 4 /Episode 5 / Episode 6.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7 – All Hail Paz Vizla of Mandalore!

Rating – ★★★★★

After a horrendous episode 6, The Mandalorian is not just back on track but has delivered one of the best episodes of the series! Episode 7 got almost everything right from incredible world building and good character development to well executed action and gorgeous VFX. For the first time in this season, it felt like the show had a well defined direction and we as viewers finally got to know what the hell has been going on and where it will go from here. The only minor complaint I have from this episode is that Din Djarin once again proved to be a side character and pretty much useless. Not only did he do anything significant in this episode, but he was also the only Mandalorian who got himself captured.

For a change, Grogu had some great moments in this episode both humor and character development wise. Giving him Iron Man like control for IG-11 was brilliant which doesn’t just make Grogu more independent but also allows him to speak a little. I am not gonna lie, those “No, No, Yes, yes, yes” moments got me cracking up!  Grogu aside, Bo-Katan and Axe Woves also got a few moments to shine. Bo-Katan who is now the protagonist of the show, not only successfully united all the Mandalorians but also managed to use her wits and leadership to escape. And of course, Paz Vizla proved to be the MVP of the episode.

Finally, all the episodes featuring Paz Vizla payed off big time as they managed to make the viewers care about him and then brutally take him away from us. Unlike Din Djarin though, Vizla kicked some serious ass and took down an entire squadron of Beskar Armor Troopers all by himself, before dying at the hands of even more badass Praetorian Guards (Red Beskar Armor Troopers). Moff Gideon proved himself to be a great villain once again and Giancarlo Esposito’s elite yet ruthless portrayal of the character sets him apart from usual Star Wars antagonists. That said, he’s been making the lives of Mandalorians really difficult since forever and it seems like he is still here to stay. Gideon can prove to be the ultimate big bad of the Mando-verse which also includes The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and the upcoming Skeleton Crew.

Of course, Grand Admiral Thrawn is another contender for the role but Gideon will surely have a larger role in the Mando-verse. So, this episode did everything we wanted to see this season but it’s a tad late now as now only one episode remains. It is highly possible that this season ends on a cliffhanger unlike previous seasons. Maybe that is exactly the reason Season 4 is already under development. Anyways, one thing that completely blew my mind in this episode was its visuals! Be it the gorgeous cinematography, the ultra realistic production design, the smooth VFX, or the deft fight choreography, this episode was a visual delight.

Final Verdict – The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7 is exactly why we loved this show in the first place. Its a high stakes, visually appealing, and thrilling episode which features masterful story-telling at a perfect pace and leaves you rooting for more! Of course, since Din Djarin is no longer the lead of the series, his uselessness in this episode can be ignored. Thanks but no thanks to Star Wars for finally delivering an incredible episode right before the season ends…

The first two seasons and the first 7 episodes of Season 3 of The Mandalorian are now streaming on Disney Plus. Season 3 episode 8 aka the finale will air on 12th April at 12:00 AM PT.
