Aryan Simhadri who plays the pivotal role of Grover in Percy Jackson and the Olympians series recently gave us an update on the rele0ase of the Disney+ series. By the way the casting of Simhadri had caused the bulk of the controversy around the show as the book fans were claiming this a result of Hollywood’s woke propaganda. Regardless, Simhadri recently shared a new image which gave us an update regarding when Disney want the series to come out. Apparently, House of Mouse’s latest book adaptation has a release window in 2024. It is speculated that either the series can drop as the first big release of 2024 or Disney+ might just make Percy Jackson as its big summer release. Around the same time we got the news that the series will consists of six episodes, however, as it turns out the news was false.
Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 1 Has 8 Episodes!
In a new Twitter post, the show’s producer Becky Riordan corrected a report from Yahoo that stated the Disney+ will only have six episodes in season one. She clarified, “Please note if you didn’t already know that there are eight episodes in our TV show. Not sure where the six came from? Maybe it’s a typo?”
She further explained how the story wouldn’t be complete in six episodes, “The story in six episodes would be like Percy forgetting he is even on a quest hmm wait a minute that almost happened! And forget the movies where Kronos dies in the second movie which is kind of the same thing or in [‘Heroes of Olympus’] when Hera…but what if what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?”
Rick Riordan has hyping up fans for the show in his recent comments, “All I can say now is that the eight episodes of season one are shaping up beautifully, and I think you’ll be delighted with the results. I have learned so much going through this process. The whole team was incredible, but special shout-out to our hard-working actors. They make the show.” Riordan had revealed that the series would have 8 episodes back in 2022, “Script work is also coming along nicely… We have scripts for the first four episodes pretty much done, and are hard at work on the remaining four of season one.”
The confirmed cast of the Disney+ series is Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabath, and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. Other actors involved in the series include Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, Glynn Turman as Chiron, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse La Rue and more. Percy Jackson and The Olympians is likely to debut on Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024.
