Korean spy series Moving is now Disney+ and Hulu’s most-watched Korean drama of all time. Within just 7 days of its release, the South Korean TV series became the most-watched K-drama of Disney globally. The show launched on the streaming service on August 9. Carol Choi, Disney’s Executive VP of original content strategy in APAC opened up about this massive hit. “The global consumer response towards the first 11 episodes of Moving has exceeded our expectations…From the U.S. to all across APAC, it is fast becoming a breakout hit with its captivating storyline, world-class cast, and incredible postproduction effects – all coming together to deliver exceptional storytelling.”
About Disney’s ‘Moving’
Moving is an adaptation of Korean artist Kang Full’s popular webtoon. At its core, it is a family drama. However, it encompasses genres like action, fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, and more. Full’s work has been adapted into many local films. The Disney+ show includes some of the big names in the Korean television and movie industry. It includes Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, and more.
Moving is about a group of South Korean spies. They are working to guard their children from external exploitation at the hands of government agencies. They were initially recruited for their extraordinary abilities such as flight, instant healing, etc. However, they vanished without a trace after getting increasingly dubious tasks. Now, their children are displaying similar unique abilities. With a lethal assassin rapidly picking off super-powered individuals, the parents have to become the monsters they were once to protect their children.
