Netflix has become home to many contemporary and vintage filmmakers like David Fincher, the Russo Brothers, Martin Scorsese and Rian Johnson. Zack Snyder after his prolonged stay at Warner Bros. also made the call to enter the Netflix club. This reason for this move is quite obvious, the Justice League debacle. After joining the Netflix club, the first project under Snyder’s belt is Rebel Moon. Another grand saga of epic sci-fi storytelling, something that Snyder very much enjoys. The story has been divided into two parts, both releasing six months apart. We’ve gotten every possible marketing snippet for the first part of Rebel Moon ahead of its December 2023 release. But, we know nothing about the part 2 except for the title. Well, Netflix just released the sequel’s first look.
Rebel Moon 2: First Image Looks Stunning!
In recent promotional meet-ups, Zack Snyder cleared up the confusion around the title of Rebel Moon’s part 2. “[Kora’s] nickname is the Scargiver, which is also related to her relationship with Princess Issa,” Snyder told Empire. “Those two myths are braided together in a pretty cool way, I think.”
“The second movie is really a war movie,” Snyder further added. “At the beginning they harvest the crops, and we have a bunch of stuff in the village, sort of the ‘Why We Fight’ aspect of the movie. We have time for relationships. Then the next thing is the big battle. It’s really fun.”

The setting of Rebel Moon is simple, the film is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius. They dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand the Tyrant. Rebel Moon stars Sofia Boutella, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Jena Malone, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Skrein, and more.
Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon will release in two parts. Part 1 – The Child of Fire will debut on Netflix on 22nd December 2023 and Part 2 – The Scargiver will release on April 19th 2024.
