Thanksgiving is all about family, football, and food. And when the festivities wind down you will probably be looking for a movie to watch with your family and friends. Here’s a list of the top 10 films to watch on Thanksgiving 2023.

Stuart Little (1999)

Live-action comedy film Stuart Little is not only children’s favorite but for adults too. There is something very nostalgic about Stuart clad in cool outfits doing the most rebel rat things ever. Directed by Rob Minkoff, the film stars Geena Davis, Hugh Laurie, and Jonathan Lipnicki. It is loosely based on E.B. White’s 1945 novel of the same name.

Rye Lane (2023)

British rom-com Rye Lane follows two strangers, Dom and Yas (David Johnson and Vivian Oparah) as they have a chance encounter after having been through breakups. The duo spends the day getting to know each other. It is directed by Raine Allen-Miller in her feature directorial debut from a screenplay by Nathan Bryon and Tom Melia.

This Is Where I Leave You (2014)

Shawn Levy’s comedy-drama film This Is Where I Leave You stars Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Corey Stoll, Rose Byrne, Connie Britton, and more. It is based on Jonathan Tropper’s 2009 novel of the same name. It follows four grown siblings who are compelled to return to their childhood home after their father’s demise and live together for a week, along with their mother, exes, and more.

Mr. Bean’s Holiday

Steve Bendelack’s Mr. Bean’s Holiday is one of the most family-favorite films ever. Based on the British sitcom Mr. Bean, the film stars Rowan Atkinson, Max Baldry, Emma de Caunes, Willem Dafoe, and Karel Roden. The film follows the titular character as he wins a trip to Cannes, France. On his way, Mr. Bean is mistaken for both an award-winning director and a kidnapper.

Little Women

Greta Gerwig’s coming-of-age period drama Little Women is based on Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel of the same name. It follows the lives of the March sisters – Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. The film stars  Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Louis Garrel, and more.

Home Alone

Christian comedy film Home Alone stars Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, and Catherine O’Hara. Chris Columbus’ Home Alone follows Kevin (Macaulay Culkin), a boy who defends his Chicago home from robbers after his family accidentally leaves him behind on their Christmas vacation to Paris.

Otherhood (2019)

Based on William Sutcliffe’s 2008 novel Whatever Makes You Happy, the film follows three mothers who show up to the NYC homes of their sons unannounced. Directed by Cindy Chupack the film stars  Angela Bassett, Patricia Arquette, Felicity Huffman, Jake Hoffman, Jake Lacy, and Sinqua Walls.

Paddington (2014)

Directed by Paul King the film is based on Michael Bond’s stories of the character Paddington Bear. The film stars Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington, with Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, and Nicole Kidman in live-action roles. The film will follow the titular anthropomorphic bear who migrates from the “Darkest Peru” jungles to the London streets, where he is adopted by the Brown family.

Yes Day (2021)

The family comedy film Yes Day is based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld’s children’s book of the same name. “A mom and dad who usually say no decide to say yes to their kids’ wildest requests — with a few ground rules — on a whirlwind day of fun and adventure.” Directed by Miguel Arteta the film stars Jennifer Garner, Edgar Ramirez, and Jenna Ortega.

The Addams Family (1991)

A family we all know and heard of – The Addams Family. The supernatural black comedy is based on Charles Addams’ cartoon character and David Levy’s 1964 TV series. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the film stars Anjelica Huston as the popular Morticia Addams who won a Golden Globe nomination. As we all know the story follows the bizarre aristocratic family who reconnects with their long-lost relative, Raul Julia’s character Gomez Addams’ brother Fester Addams (Christopher Lloyd).
