Stranger Things season 4 finally came out last year and it was pretty clear from the get go that this season isn’t just a lousy addition to the show. This was the penultimate season of the show and from what we can see, possibly the most important one. Even more than the final season will be. This season definitely offered us a huge story that took many characters on their respective journeys. We got answers to a lot of questions that the previous seasons had left us pondering. Not only was the horror dialed up but even the emotional quotient of the show had gone up by a notch. We see a lot of emotions being exchanged by characters with each other. I think I won’t be wrong if I say Will’s was one of the most emotional journeys in the season.
We all got the feeling he wants to say something, possibly to Mike, but couldn’t. Many suspected his sexuality to be the reason. It was implied by the show that Will is gay and isn’t in terms with it. He is in love with his best friend Mike. This suspicion of fans was almost confirmed in Vol. 2 of the fourth season in a beautiful scene shared between Jonathan and Will. After this, Noah Schnapp who plays Will Byers also confirmed Will’s sexuality in a appearance. However, it looks like Schnapp’s unreal connection with the character is more personal than you’d think as just like his character Schnapp has come out of the closet.
Stranger Things: Noah Schnapp Reveals His Sexuality On Tik Tok!
On Thursday night Noah Schnapp uploaded one of his classic and quite routine videos on Tik Tok. If you follow him then you know that he does that quite often. However, fans soon realised that this is not just another video as it is more important and personal than anything he might’ve shared before. The video had Noah Schnapp lip syncing to a the popular audio where people describe big life events that weren’t “that serious.” In a corner Schnapp had written, “When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know'”
To this fans appreciated him and one even wrote, “this is an amazing come out video”. Chris Olsen a popular content creator who is openly gay welcomed Schnapp in the LGBTQIA+ community by writing, “welcome king”. Schnapp saved the best part for last as he captioned the video as, “I guess I’m more similar to will than I thought” referencing his character’s similar journey. The actor just turned 18 last year in October and he officially became an adult, he began understanding himself better.
This news does make a lot of sense as the way Schnapp talked about Will’ journey in Season 4 does felt like he understood the character intimately. The actor had previously stated, “Obviously, it was hinted at in Season 1: It was always kind of there, but you never really knew, is it just him growing up slower than his friends? Now that he’s gotten older, they made it a very real, obvious thing. Now it’s 100% clear that he is gay and he does love Mike. But before, it was a slow arc. I think it is done so beautifully, because it’s so easy to make a character just like all of a sudden be gay.”
Congratulations Noah on coming out of the closet. Watch the full video here:
