This Is Us is one of the best and most beloved family drama TV series of all time. Since past 5 years it has kept its fans entirely immersed in the story of the Pearsons with numerous happy, sad, shocking, and tear-jerking moments. In a world of increasing distances and selfishness, This Is Us is trying to remind people what’s important.
The show talks about complexities of “normal” life situations and the concept of right or wrong. Anyways, to our disappointment, the show was currently airing its final season which ended with last nights episode. So, now we have to bid goodbye to the Pearsons and as for me, I am still saving the final season and watching like one episode a month. This show is like meditation to me and I want to make it last as long as I can. Anyways, now that the show has officially culminated with ‘Us (Episode 18)’, what’s next for the fans of This Is Us?
Will There Be A This Is Us Spin-Off?
At the moment a This Is Us spin off seems difficult as the series has just ended the creators haven’t revealed any further. Series creator Dan Fogelman confirmed that there are no further plans for the series as of now but he wouldn’t be too sure about the future.
“So I’m not speaking about the far future—or even the near future—though there’s certainly no plans. But in terms of any continuous spinoff or continuation of the show? No, we’re definitely bringing it to the end,” he told Entertainment Weekly.
So, it is clear that this was the final season of This Is Us and it will not return with a spin-off for sometime. While on the topic, Chrissy Metz (Kate Pearson) sahred her thoughts about a reunion but didn’t has nothing to say about a spin-off. She said, “I don’t know about a movie but I’n hoping a little reunion might be cute, maybe 5 or 10 years from now. But maybe there’ll be a beautiful spinoff. I don’t know. We’ll see.”
Will There Be A This Is Us Movie?
While he denied any spin-off plans, Fogelman reacted a bit positively towards possibility of a film. He said, “If we could figure out a movie down the road, I’d love to get back together with these guys and do it.” That aside, it seems like the main cast members are also on board with the movie as all of them had something or the other positive or promising thing to say.
Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson) said that she “would be game to do anything that would reunite me with everybody here.” Chris Sullivan (Toby Damon) also said that he’s “always on board for the This Is Us family.” Sterling K. Brown (Randall Pearson) also has positive things to say, “We totally could. And that’s something, actually, I could definitely see [NBC] promoting it. Like, we’ve seen the Sex and the City joints, there’s an Entourage joint. If they can do it, why the hell not?”
So, even though nothing is confirmed yet, it seems like a This Is Us movie has more potential to get made than any other kind of spin-off. As for the fans, they’ll love anything the Pearson family has to offer.
