ABC’s Will Trent Season 2 now has new release updates. Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling novels, the show takes the viewers on an adventure with each episode as Trent solves complex cases. After a successful Season 1, the show is all set to return with Season 2, however, due to the effect of SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, it could be a while before the ABC series returns to the screen. With so many projects commencing production work before the end of 2023, following the end of Hollywood strikes, Will Trent should be able to begin filming soon and thus push quickly towards its release. Will Trent Season 2 will focus on forging the relationship between Will and Angie. The finale episode of Season 1 has us still assuming about Angie’s physical plight. However, while Will is not obsessing over her, he will be investigating his mother’s identity. He has her picture and name now. When James Ulster hinted her family was boisterous and loud especially her older brother, it left a storyline for Season 2 to explore.
Release Update
Deadline and The Wrap confirmed that the ABC series will begin production on Season 2 in early December with both the writers’ and actors’ strikes officially over. Should production only take couple of months like Season 1, fans can expect ABC’s Will Trent Season 2 to start airing by March 2024. As of now, the second season doesn’t have an official release date.
