The Internet has been buzzing with excitement ever since the announcement of the details of Netflix’s first Pakistan-themed original. With the return of the powerful screen duo Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, expectations are currently set at the highest level possible. The two will star in the upcoming series Jo Bache Hai Sang Samait Lo from Farhat Ishtiaq’s 2013 novel of the same name. The duo was last seen in The Legend of Maula Jatt, which went on to gross 300 crores from its 45 crores budget.
Jo Bache Hai Sang Samait Lo: What is The Show About?
The show revolves around Sikandar, a student at Harvard Law, and he encounters something life changing. He also meets Liza, an artist with a troubled backstory. The two are supposed to meet in Italy, and the series covers Italy, Pakistan and the United Kingdom. Other important cast members include Sanam Saeed, Bilal Ashraf, Maya Ali, Ahad Raza Mir, etc. As apparent, Netflix is investing the big bucks in this original, and expects Jo Bache Hai Sang Samait Lo to be a huge success considering the last time Fawad and Mahira were in a film it had been a blockbuster. The leading duo have also starred in Humsafar, which is based on another of Ishtiaq’s novels. Momina Duraid Films, based in Dubai, will be producing the series.
Fawad and Mahira have both had brief but successful careers in Bollywood, with the former having films like Khoobsoorat, Kapoor and Sons, and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on his roster, while the latter co-starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees.
There have been no streaming dates announced yet, considering filming is still underway.
