We all know that 2024 is going to be a thin year for Marvel thanks to the Hollywood strikes. The studio only has one major theatrical release in the entire year. This is a very rare occurrence. Generally, Marvel has at least two-three theatrical releases every year but 2024 won’t be one of those years. The only Marvel movie to come out in 2024 is Deadpool 3. We will be getting the film’s trailer next month at the Super Bowl. Well, if you’re a Marvel fan then don’t get disheartened as Marvel TV is going nowhere. The year has already started well with Marvel’s Echo and many more TV series are set to debut in 2024. One of them being Marvel’s Ironheart. Here’s everything we know about the show.
Ironheart Will Be A Heist Series, Plot Leaks Reveal!
Marvel character Ironheart aka Riri Williams was introduced in 2016 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato, with Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda later redesigning the character. The character made her MCU debut in the Phase 4 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and I think her intellectual prowess was well established in her debut.
The upcoming Ironheart series will be set post the events of Wakanda Forever. We’ve all seen the leaks that suggest the character will have multiple suits in the series, one that will be her first and then an advanced one which will be designed in Wakanda. Another eccentric detail about the series is Sacha Baron Cohen as Mephisto.
The character is set to appear in the 5th and 6th episode of the show. These rumors are because of CGI scans of the actor taking place. This does make a popular theory about the show appear to be true. The theory states that Cohen will likely have some sort of dual identity in the series, giving weight to speculation he would be playing Marvel’s take on the Devil.
After knowing that Mephisto will appear in Ironheart, many people are confused as in what is the Devil doing in a sci-fi show like Ironheart? Well, thankfully there is an explanation. Ironheart’s villain in the show is The Hood, a criminal who wields a magical red hood. In the comics, its powers originated from Dormammu.
However for the MCU, Marvel could always switch directions and make them come from Mephisto instead. I believe this is the logical change that Marvel will make to draw sense out of Mephisto’s appearance. All of these leaks are a year old. The newest update about the series is that its plot will revolve around a heist in a technological company. The style of the heist will be like Ocean’s Eleven.

Dominique Thorne plays the lead role of Riri Williams aka Ironheart. Good Girls star Manny Montana will feature as a series regular, probably in a negative role. Along with him, In the Heights star Anthony Ramos will appear as The Hood, This Is Us alum Lyric Ross and Shea Couleé. The series will be helmed by multiple directors including Sam Bailey (Dear White People) and Angela Barnes (Gillian in Georgia), they’ll collaborate with head writer Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer). Hodge even acted as Executive Producer to Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther.
Ironheart will start streaming on Disney+ in late 2024.
