Scarlet Witch Elizabeth Olsen Respond to Solo Movie Rumors

Elizabeth Olsen has reacted to speculations that the MCU may produce a solo movie about the Scarlet Witch. The actor most recently appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, reprising her role as the horrific villain Scarlet Witch, who would do anything to get hold of America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) so she could gain access to her powers and be reunited with her kids. Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange 2 revealed a terrifying aspect of Wanda Maximoff that had not previously been shown in the MCU.

Ever since her debut in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda has been a complex character in the MCU. She has frequently walked the border between good and evil, but with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she turned into a wholly antagonistic force. Because of how prominent Olsen’s character was in that movie, many people have started to speculate about the possibility of a standalone film for the powerful and fierce Scarlet Witch. Last year, Olsen co-led the Disney+ series WandaVision, but given the ending of Doctor Strange 2, it is certain there could be much more to her story.

What Is Scarlet Witch ‘s Fate After The Doctor Strange 2 Ending?

In a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Olsen addressed these rumors of her character getting a solo MCU movie and those claiming she’ll be in the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: House of Harkness. Olsen plays things close to her chest, as is typical with Marvel celebrities. “I would love to be a part of both of those. No one tells me anything, and I’m not even hiding a secret because I’m bad at that. I know nothing about my future.”, the actor teased.

After she battles America Chavez, Wong (Benedict Wong), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shows Wanda ultimately reuniting with her kids, however, they are scared of her. The sorceress smashes her mountain throne and seems to die upon realising that she has turned into all she had feared. But all that viewers could see was a bright red flash. Michael Waldron, the writer of Multiverse of Madness, recently hinted that there is a good chance she survived the collapse.

Wanda’s character can be revisited in various ways, even if Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness does not end well for her. After being killed off in Avengers: Endgame, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow made a comeback in a solo feature that served as a prequel, chronicling a storyline between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. The Scarlet Witch might appear in another MCU project through the use of a prequel movie or possibly a multiverse spin-off, similar to how Loki was revived for his own Disney+ series. Olsen has expressed her interest, so there are chances it may materialise someday.
