Chucky Season 2 Trailer Is Finally Here, Release Date, Plot and More

Chucky is the first show in the classic horror franchise- Child’s Play. Chucky Season 1 debuted on Syfy and USA Network in 2021. The show was one of the highest rated TV shows of 2021 with a startling critical reception, it was only inevitable that its home networks would pick it up for a second season and that is what happened. While all the actors from the first season would be making a return, or at least the ones who survived, there have been some new additions to the cast for season 2. We covered the new additions to the cast last month. The show being renewed for a 2nd season so quickly is a great news for the fans. As that meant they would be able to see their favorite murdering doll in less than a year’s time. That sounded wrong.

However, since the announcement of the 2nd season we haven’t been getting major updates about the show. We got minor updates about the new additions to the cast but that’s it. The filming of the 2nd Season began earlier this year and fans were wondering when can they get a look at the new season. Syfy did release a small teaser a while back but they were holding back to release a trailer. However at SDCC’22 Syfy released a full length trailer for Chucky Season 2.

Chucky Season 2 Trailer Promises a Blood Galore!

The trailer features various shots of Chucky wrecking havoc in town. All the Chucky dolls cutting themselves out of their packages and then Chucky attacking a nun where he blasphemously asks her, “Wanna Pray?” The trailer ends with Chucky talking to the nun where he is the over the moon as just by seeing him she has gotten a heart attack.

With that trailer, we know season one’s survivors will be back, something further confirmed by season two’s official description: “After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake, Devon and Lexy, along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy.”

Season 1 saw Chucky’s killing rampage rendered Hackensack devoid of adults with the deaths of Lexy’s dad Nathan, Devon’s mom Kim, and Jake’s dad Lucas during the show’s first season while also completely destroying the Wheeler family. The new cast additions bring new adults to town, giving and his doll army new targets. Season 2 will hopefully answer all the questions raised by Season 1’s bloody finale.

Chucky Season 2 will star Brad Dourif as voice of Chucky/Charles Lee Ray, while Jennifer Tilly, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise are reprising their roles as Tiffany, Alex, and Kyle. Despite these returning players, Chucky focuses on a new cast of teenagers that includes Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Björgvin Arnarson, and Alyvia Alyn Lind. The new additions to the show are Meg Tilly (Psycho II), Gina Gershon (Borderlands), Joe Pantoliano (Bad Boys for Life), Tony Nappo (Saw II), Sutton Stracke (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), and Lara Jean Chorostecki ( Hannibal)
