DC is in a weird spot right now. To be honest, the Superhero genre as a whole has been a mess for the past few years now. Marvel’s content has taken a considerable drop and it seems like they’re never recovering. DC on the other hand has been struggling to create a universe, with one movie it feels like they’re back on track but then the next movie pushes them down a cliff. The DCEU was never more directionless than at this hour. DC and Warner Bros. knows that as well. That is why apart from the DCEU, they make movies about other DC characters as well which are not part of the DCEU. Joker and its sequel Joker: Folie à Deux are one example for it and Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy would be the other one. This week DC’s latest movie Black Adam released.
The film saw the return of Henry Cavill’s Superman in its post credit scene and just after this we got the news that there is a Man of Steel 2 in development at Warner Bros. However, it looks like it this is not the only Superman and non-DCEU project that is under development at Warner Bros. According to reports, there is a Black Superman movie in development at Warner Bros.
Is a Black Superman film actually happening?
