Dragon Ball Super Manga’s Granolah Arc, which began back with Chapter 67 has effectively ended with Chapter 87 in August. This chapter bring to end, the battle between the Saiyans and Gas as a part of the Granolah Arc. Fans called this arc overextended and tiresome, full of multiple storylines and unnecessary subplots. But that is now in the past as the last issue not only put a satisfying end to the nemesis Gas but also saw a surprise visit of Black Frieza. Most fans loved the last chapter however, a few pointed out the overuse of the iconic villain Frieza in entire DB Franchise. Anyways, now that Granolah arc has ended everyone is looking forward to what’s next and that is exactly what this article is about as we have some amazing new info on Dragon Ball Super Chapter 88.
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 88 Preview and Release Date
As you may now, after the end of Granolah arc in August the DBS Manga has been on a hiatus. The last chapter was Chapter 87 and we saw no chapter in September, October, or November so some of you might be wondering if that’s going to be the case this month as well. Well, we have good news for you as the series will return this month as Toyotarou is now done preparing for the new manga arc. As confirmed by multiple sources, Dragon Ball Super Manga returns this month with the ‘Super Hero Arc’ on 20 December! The Drafts, leaks, and early spoilers will start coming out on 14 December, 10am (JST).

Here is a small text preview of the chapter – “This story will depict Trunks & Goten leading double lives as students who can transform into Superheroes!” The Rough summary of the chapter as provided by @DBSHype is as follows: “After the death battle on Cereal Planet, Goku & Vegeta returned to Beerus’ Planet after being defeated by Black Frieza who suddenly appeared. Seeing the overwhelming difference of power, Goku & Vegeta continue their training to beat Frieza. Meanwhile on earth…”
So basically this arc will focus on what’s happening on Earth while Goku and Vegeta train on Beerus’ planet. This strongly hints at the fact that the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero might be translated to manga in the coming few chapters. But before getting to Beast Gohan or Orange Piccolo, it will start off with our beloved young Saiyans – Goten and Trunks. Just like the DBS: SH movie, they are now a bit grown up and live their lives as students who are part-time Superheros. So, much like how Gohan became the Great Saiyanman, Goten and Trunks are going to create their own alter egos and help the society at the street level.
Check out the very first draft attached above! The most exciting thing about this is that it seems like not only will we be getting Gohan Beast and Orange Piccolo, but there is also a possibility that we’ll witness the introduction of BROLY in the manga real soon! Let us hope it becomes a reality as soon as possible! As for Dragon Ball Super anime return, an announcement is near and you can read about it here. Check out Chapter 87 summary here.
