Batman is one of the most iconic characters ever made and has always been among the top 5 most popular superheroes ever. After Spider-Man, he is one superhero name that almost every person on this planet has heard or knows about. Batman debuted in May 1939 in Detective Comics no. 27 and has since appeared in numerous comic books, comic strips, and graphic novels, as well as movies, TV shows, animation, and video games. The character is one of the biggest pop culture icons and among all Batman interpretations we’ve had, Christian Bale’s Batman is the most critically acclaimed and popular version. We have some awesome updates about the same and Batman fans might want to check it out.
Christian Bale Will Return As The Batman If Nolan Is Involved
Bale’s Batman was so incredible because of the vision of the man behind it, i.e., Christopher Nolan. In a world where superhero films were struggling to make an impact Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy changed the shape of the industry. Not only were they critically and popularly appreciated, The Dark Knight is among the top 3 highest rated films on IMDB. But the thing about it was that it stood as a complete trilogy with no scope for spin-offs or sequels. Therefore, since then we’ve seen 2 new Batman portrayed by Ben Affleck and Robert Pattison.
Both of these new Batman versions were great is their own respective ways but that still doesn’t stop fans from rooting a Christian Bale return. But again, what made him so amazing was not just him, but also Christopher Nolan. Same is what Bale has expressed in certain recent interviews. He stated that he is not adamant not to return but he’ll only return if Nolan directs him. Check out what he told ComicBook.com a few hours ago.
No, no, no. Nobody, nobody reaches out to me or they keep me like a mushroom, keep me in the dark and feed me sh-t. For me, that would be a matter of Chris Nolan, if he ever decided to do it again and if he chose to come my way again, then yeah, I would consider it because that was always our pact between each other is we would just stick to it. We said we would only ever make three. And then I said to myself, and I’d only ever make it with Chris.
Bale also told something similar to ScreenRant.
Occasionally people say to me, “Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this.” And I’m like, “That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that.” I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, “Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long.” In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, “You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.” And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.
So, basically Bale and Nolan come as a package deal and if someday WB decides to go that way and bring back Nolan, Bale could very well return as the caped crusader.
