Perhaps the only Marvel content barring Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 that had genuine hype was Loki season 2. The high bar that the TV show has set up is something that the entire MCU is trying to catch up. Not to take anything away from The Marvels, but the God of Mischief series is both a well crafted piece of content as well as something that is very relevant to the MCU’s current saga. The sequel season to the blockbuster series didn’t disappoint. In fact, many believe that Marvel has once again hit it out of the park with Loki. Perhaps it is the best thing Marvel has done all year. However, the season did end on a tragic note. Ever since then fans are begging the question whether Tom Hiddleston will return as the God of Mischief.
When Will Tom Hiddleston Return After Loki Season 2?
After the finale of Loki season 2, it is clear that Loki has become one of the most important beings in the multiverse. He is responsible for holding onto the timelines from collapsing as he is now the God of Stories. However, after the twisty climax of Loki season 2, fans are wondering when would they see him again. Well, here are some of our guesses:
- Deadpool 3 – The upcoming threequel will deal with TVA hunting down Deadpool as he has escaped from one timeline and somehow gotten into another. This film is also supposed to pave the way for Avengers: Secret Wars. There have been rumors Owen Wilson’s Mobius and Tara Strong’s Miss Minutes will appear as the TVA hunts down Deadpool. As Loki is responsible for holding the multiverse together, it is still possible that he might appear in a minor form or someone might just mention him.
- Avengers: The Kang Dynasty – As this the film where the entire MCU will be at war with Kang, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki becomes an important player in this game because of his expertise in the multiverse and already established rivalry between him and Kang. It might even be possible that he is the one who warns the Avengers against the threat of Jonathan Majors. He could even be the leader of the pack bringing his story to a full circle.
- Avengers: Secret Wars – If for some reason Loki doesn’t take part in Kang Dynasty, then his role in Secret Wars becomes more much important. It is more than likely that our heroes would lose to Kang in the first part and then Loki can be ace in the hole our heroes need. He could even be the one to make the big Iron Man-level sacrifice play, finally closing out his MCU journey in the 2027 movie following his debut all the way back in 2011’s Thor.
- Thor 5 – Recently we’ve gotten a word about Thor 5 and apparently it is a priority for Marvel. Taika Waititi might not return but the studio is hellbent on getting Chris Hemsworth reprise his role as Thor. Marvel Studios producer Kevin Wright confirmed to Variety the plan for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor to eventually reunite with Loki as a “priority,” noting how the desire to set that up emotionally has been the “goal” of the Disney+ show.
