Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero was finally released on June 11, 2022, but unfortunately it only released in Japan. But that’s not a problem as the film is all set to debut worldwide starting August 18, 2022 in Australia and Central America. The film has opened to great reviews and many fans are hailing it the best Dragon Ball movie of all time dethroning DBS: Broly from the top spot. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero vs Dragon Ball Super: Broly Box Office
According to sources, DBS: Super Hero box office performance in Japan has confirmed that it has already blown past 1 Billion Yen within a week of its release. The film has grossed 1.08 billion yen to be precise which is nearly $8 million USD. While this may not be a big deal in Hollywood, it means a great deal for Toei Animation as the film topped the Box Office in the first weekend and is doing great in the second week as well.
As compared to Dragon Ball Super: Broly, it is a little behind but that may change once it makes its worldwide debut. Broly made past 1 billion Yen within the first 3 days and its life time earning were 4 Billion Yen in Japan and 13.5 Billion Yen (124.6 Million USD) worldwide. Though, it might prove a little hard for it to beat DBS: Broly domestically, there are high chances that it is surpass it worldwide. The reason is that fans worldwide have been waiting for any DBS content for over 4 years and they will pounce on any chance to view this film on theatres as soon as it arrives.
But one downside to this is that the global release is nearly two months away and the film has already been leaked online. This will surely hurt its box office glory as man fans will watch the leaked version of the film. However, there is still a solid chance that the film can beat Dragon Ball Super: Broly by the time it ends its run.
