My Hero Academia debuted in 2016 and ever since then its popularity has spread like a sweet virus infecting fans all around the world. Today it is among the top 5 anime today and that’s all within a span of 5 seasons. It’s last season premiered in 2021 with the finale debuting on September 21, 2021. Ever since then fans of the anime have been rooting for more content whereas manga is way ahead of it and has spoiled a lot for the anime fans. Anyways, we have some good news as the wait for season 6 is about to get easier.
Where to Watch My Hero Academia Season 5 OVA Special Episodes?
Two new My Hero Academia Season 5 Special Episodes / OVA episodes are now screening in Japan from June 16-19 and will stream online later this summer. These OVA’s are all set to premiere in North America on July 1, at Anime Expo 2022. So, as of now fans can view them in select theatres in Japan and fans in North America will have to wait until July 1 to catch these OVAs. As for the rest of the fans, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for their streaming debut.
The Twitter Account Shibuya Smash shared some images from one of the theaters that is currently playing the two My Hero Academia specials and stated that there are around 10 select theatres where it is being showcased. Read the following Twitter thread to know more.

Special Episodes OVA Non-Spoiler Description
The first OVA as reported earlier, has our beloved characters taking part in “Hero League Baseball” which has been inspired by some baseball-themed promo material. The first OVA will divide the My Hero Academia characters into two teams – Gang Orca’s Orcas and Shishido’s Lionels. Our heroes and other U.A. students will once again be pitched against one another as they take part in this super-powered game.
The details about the second special, as reported by the official website for the My Hero Academia anime along with a visual earlier today. The second episode will be titled “Warae! Jigoku no Yō ni” (Laugh! Like Hell) and will take place during the “Internship at Endeavor’s Agency” arc from the show’s fifth season. The synopsis as detailed by Anime News Network, reads as following:
“A string of graffiti incidences happen across Endeavor’s jurisdiction during winter vacation, and the culprit is a self-proclaimed artist named Mr. Smiley. Due to Mr. Smiley’s Quirk, he’s able to evade capture. The police ask Endeavor for help but since he considers it a minor offense, he tells the police to deal with it themselves. That is, until Mr. Smiley vandalizes Endeavor’s own house with graffiti.”
