It is a really great time to be an anime and manga fan as not only the new gen anime are incredible, old ones are returning as well. A few days we got the news about Hunter x Hunter’s Manga return and now we have some awesome news for Tokyo Mew Mew fans. Tokyo Mew Mew manga debuted in September 2000 and the anime debuted in February 2002. But in January 2003, we bid farewell to the short but sweet anime and in February 2004 its last manga run also ended. Fortunately, the manga returned in December 2019 by the name of Tokyo Mew Mew Ole! The good news is that now the anime is also returning and here’s all we know about it.
Tokyo Mew Mew New Release Date and Trailer
The reboot’s return was confirmed by the first trailer launched three months ago and now the release date has been confirmed by latest trailer launched just a few hours ago. Check out the trailer below!
Tokyo Mew Mew New is all set to debut this summer on June 6, 2022, as revealed by the trailer. The details about how many episodes there will be in this new series, or what they’ll be about are yet to be revealed. But the good news is that the long awaited will be debuting in just a week from now. Also, as per ComicBook.com, “Sentai Filmworks has officially acquired Tokyo Mew Mew New for an English language release, and it will be exclusively streaming with HIDIVE upon its release this Summer.”
Tokyo Mew Mew Plot and Cast
The reboot will be directed by Takahiro Natori and written by Yuka Yamada. The music for the series will be provided by Yasuharo Takanashi and the series will be produced and distributed by Yumeta Company Graphinica on TV Tokyo. The official synopsis for the reboot series reads:
The scientists of the μ(Mew) Project use DNA of endangered species to create a team of heroines imbued with amazing super-human abilities. One of them, Ichigo Momomiya, awakens to discover she is armed with all the skills of a Iriomote cat. Ichigo must band together with other Mew Mew girls to repel an alien incursion, all the while hiding their thrilling double lives from friends and family.
