Jurassic Park is one of those classic sci-fi franchises that have defined modern cinema as they’ve enabled filmmakers and audiences to dream as big as possible. The first Jurassic Park film from Steven Spielberg will eternally be remembered as perfect science fiction. However, the follow ups to the masterpiece weren’t up to the mark. Even the sequel directed by Spielberg himself fell short on expectations. After four Jurassic Park films, the franchise underwent a soft reboot in 2015 which resulted in the highly entertaining package, Jurassic World. However, once again the follow ups to that weren’t up to par. In fact, they were downright abysmal.
Despite that, all the Jurassic World movies minted over a billion dollars at the box office. Naturally, it wasn’t long before we were getting another Jurassic Park film. However, this one seems genuinely interesting due to the director on board (Gareth Edwards) and the leaked cast.
The Leaked Cast of Jurassic Park 7 Looks Elite!
We already knew that Gareth Edwards will be directing the upcoming Jurassic Park 7 and honestly I couldn’t imagine a better visionary to take this franchise forward than the man who has directed Godzilla (2014), The Creator (2023) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016). This was already a reason to take this film seriously but now that I’ve seen the potential cast of the film, I’m seriously excited to see what they’re cooking.
So, rumor has it that Gareth Edwards’ Jurassic Park film will have the star presence of Dev Patel, Scarlett Johansson, Colman Domingo and Jonathan Bailey. I don’t need to tell you about Dev Patel or Scarlett Johansson. They’re already icons of pop culture thanks to their variety of roles across genres. Colman Domingo has been around the movie circle for a while and he has appeared in multiple crucial roles in TV and movies.
Many of you might know Jonathan Bailey because of his flourishing TV career. He has starred in Bridgerton, Crashing and Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan. As I’ve mentioned above, if this is the actual cast of the film then this film can’t get to us sooner.
The upcoming “untitled” Jurassic Park reboot doesn’t have a release date at the time of writing.
