Finally after being delayed for ten months, Blade is finally heading into production on 30th May 2023. These delays are not good as according to many reports because of these production issues, lead star Mahershala Ali is extremely frustrated with the process. Hopefully, Blade sticks to this filming date and the rest of the production of the film doesn’t face any issues. This new phase is really making Marvel work hard as lot of things are starting to go against them. Let’s hope, this will be Marvel’s last production issue. That being said, just before filming commences the cast list of the film has added another name to it and it is not a small deal, horror genres newest breakout star Mia Goth has been confirmed to play a pivotal role.
Marvel’s Blade Casts Mia Goth!
Deadline has reported that Mia Goth who has made quite a name for herself in the horror genre with recent films like X, Pearl and Infinity Pool has agreed to star in Marvel’s Studios Blade reboot. She will also star in Ti West’s concluding chapter of the X trilogy- MaXXXine. Details on her role were not given, but she’ll join Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali in the upcoming reboot. Neither Marvel, Disney nor representatives of Mia Goth have offered a comment on the report.
As to what role Mia Goth may play, the obvious choice from fans seems to be Lilith. A character with multiple interpretations. The most popular and perfect one being Lilith, the daughter of Dracula. With Blade known for vampire hunting antics, she would fit into the mix perfectly. Then there’s the Mother of Demons interpretation, which could be perfect for a recurring threat across multiple MCU projects. The powerful villain could be the ideal lynchpin to form that supernatural team-up project many fans have been crossing their fingers for.
Let me know which character do you think Mia Goth will play? If it turns out to be Lilith which of the above two interpretations would you like to see?
Marvel’s Blade Reboot is slated to release on September 6th 2024.
