Based on Bryan Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was adapted for the big screen in 2010. The film follows the titular Scott, a 22-year-old bassist. He has never had any issues getting a girlfriend, usually, the problem is getting rid of them. However, when Ramona Flowers enters his life, he finds she has the most troublesome baggage: an army of ex-boyfriends who will do anything to eliminate him from her list. SP vs. The World was released on August 13, 2010, and fans have been waiting for a sequel ever since. Good news, Netflix will bring the franchise, and here’s everything we know about it.

We don’t have much information regarding the direction of Netflix’s Scott Pilgrim. However, it won’t likely be a reboot. SP vs. The World was not a direct adaptation of the novels. So there are several ideas left to explore. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off will likely use the books and video games as inspiration, adapting a few more storylines from O’Malley’s work. Producer Edgar Wright said, “That [the series] doesn’t just expand the universe, but also…well, just watch it.” The official logline says:
“Scott Pilgrim meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, but learns he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. Then things get even more complicated. Based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley.”
