Dragon Ball Super Manga’s Granolah Arc, which began back with Chapter 67 has effectively ended with Chapter 87 in August. This chapter bring to end, the battle between the Saiyans and Gas as a part of the Granolah Arc. Fans have been calling this arc overextended and tiresome, full of multiple storylines and unnecessary subplots. But that is now in the past as the last issue not only put a satisfying end to the nemesis Gas but also saw a surprise visit of Black Frieza. Most fans loved the last chapter however, a few pointed out the overuse of the iconic villain Frieza in entire DB Franchise. Anyways, now that Granolah arc has ended everyone is looking forward to what’s next and that is exactly what this article is about.
Dragon Ball Super Manga Chapter 88 Release Date and Time
As you may now, after the end of Granolah arc in August the DBS Manga has been on a hiatus. The last chapter was Chapter 87 and we saw no chapter in September, or October, so some of you might be wondering if that’s going to be the case this month as well. Sadly, there is no information about the next chapter Dragon ball Super manga 88 in this month’s V jump as well. So yes, the series will remain on hiatus throughout November as Toyotarou is preparing for the new manga arc. However, you don’t need to worry as not worry as it was already confirmed a few months ago that the series would return before the end of the current year and its return is closer than you think.
As per info provided by trusted sources, Dragon Ball Super chapter 88 is expected to be released on Wednesday, December 21 in the monthly V-Jump issue along with Boruto Chapter 76 among others. As you may know DBS is serialized in Shueisha’s V-Jump magazine which is released on the 21st of every month, barring a Sunday or holiday. When DBS chapter 88 comes out, fans will be able to read it on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and Viz Media’s Manga Plus site. The international release time for the manga series’ upcoming chapter is expected to be the following:

- Eastern Time – 11 AM
- British Time – 4 PM
- European Time – 5 PM
- India Time – 8:30 PM
- Philippine Time – 11 PM
- Australia Central Time – 12:30 AM
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 88 Leaks and Spoilers?
Since the release is almost a month away, we unfortunately have no spoilers for you today. The first spoilers for DBS Chapter 88 will start rolling out on 13th November and full plot summary along with raw scans will appear on 16th or 17th November. Due to the hiatus, it is entirely possible that we receive some early leaks and spoiler, so be sure to check in on HOC from time to time as we barely ever miss any significant update on DB Franchise. DBS Chapter 87 Summary and Recap
The chapter begins with Goku and Vegeta kinda unsatisfied with the way they won. Vegeta says he will polish his techniques even more so he can surpass Goku once again. That’s when Granolah falls to the ground and starts coughing. Granolah then says he has only 3 years left, that’s the pact he made in order to become the strongest. Monaito asks to get a look at him and suddenly seems surprised. Goku asks if it’s because of how little time he has left but it’s the exact opposite: Monaito can maybe heal him completely. He unleashes some aura and Granolah is flabbergasted.
He does the same thing to Goku and Vegeta and they feel revigorated once again. Elek prepared to leave and Goku asks if he’s planning to leave his brother behind. Elek says he doesn’t care about trashes either way and all of a sudden Monaito gets pierced by a laser. It was Gas who shot Monaito! A new fight starts between Gas vs Goku Ultra Instinct and Vegeta Ultra Ego. Surprisingly, Gas wins and that’s when Frieza appears, and kills Gas with incredible ease. Frieza revealed that he was in another different world until now, and since Frieza did not exist in the universe, the holy dragon did not take him into account while granting the ‘strongest of all universe” wish.
After killing Gas, Frieza says he couldn’t stay weaker than Goku and Vegeta forever, so he went in search of a new power. Frieza unveils his new Black Frieza transformation, and attacks Goku Ul and Vegeta UE. Frieza left after showing off his new transformation which he christened Black Frieza and also invited Maki and Oil to join his army saying that they need kitchen staff. Monaito is alive, he gives Bardock’s scouter to Goku, and Granola apologizes to the Saiyans. Goku asks Whis if the strongest warrior the Oracle Fish was talking about was Frieza, to which Whis doesn’t answer directly, but Goku and Vegeta interpret that as “yes”..
