My Hero Academia: UA Heroes Battle OVA Full Episode Leaked

Official Premise – Winter vacation. Mirio Togata, a third year student, comes to see the Class 1-A students who are not allowed to go out of the dormitory and have a lot of time to spare. What he brought with him was the card game “Heroes Battle” created by the support department! The members of Class A begin playing right away, but this game, in which each hero uses their own cards, is not as easy as it seems, like a hero…! Who will be the winner of the card battle…!?

Now begins the leaked summary so spoiler warning (source) is now in effect. The episode takes place during winter vacation. It starts with Ochako & Hagakure making a snowman outside the dorms. The scene switches to inside the dorms. Denki and Mineta are frustrated because they aren’t allowed to go out. Even when Sero suggests they play cards, they complain, saying that they got bored with that. They want to go out and do something fun instead. But Iida and Momo scold them for complaining, reminding both why they aren’t allowed to leave, that the teachers are doing their best to keep them safe. They should be thankful. Then the New Year’s Event (新年会/shin-nen-kai) is mentioned, and Izuku is encouraged to explain it.

He does so with so much excitement and enthusiasm. The New Year’s Event is held at a shrine every year, and students get to play various games. They can use their quirks too. Everyone is sad, knowing that they can’t experience it. This is when Mirio shows up. In a snowman. Imagine a snowman with Mirio’s face sticking out. It’s funny how he gets out, flexing in a way that causes snow to fly all over the room and hit everyone in the face. Mirio introduces a card game created by the students from the support course. The cards are designed after the UA students and teachers/pro heroes. The latter are special cards. But unlike regular card games, these cards don’t have any info printed on them. So how do they play? The game comes with a board that’s run by an AI program.

When a character card is placed on the board, the AI reads it and creates a holographic image of the character. The game characters battle against each other inside a holographic arena created by the board. The game characters have weaknesses too. (For example, game Aoyama’s stomach hurts after using his quirk.) Remember when we mentioned the teachers/pro heroes are special cards? That is because they disappear after delivering 1 attack. Players pick random cards to start the game. Each round is 1 vs 1. The player whose cards are all defeated loses the game. Being pushed out of the arena bounds is considered a defeat as well. The game rules are explained by a holographic image of Hatsume, by the way. It would remind fans of the sports festival. We even have game Present Mic as the game announcer (just his voice).

The first game is (Izuku vs Ojiro). Here’s a table of how it goes and what cards they use. Each row equals a round. The winner in the end is Izuku. The next game is (Ochako, Mina and Tsuyu) VS (Sero, Mineta and Tokoyami). The boys play their own character cards while the girls play (Mt.Lady > Ashido > Hagakure) The girls team win. Next game is (Momo VS Eijirou). Momo plays (her own card + Ochako) She wins the game. Next is (Denki VS Jirou). Denki plays (Sero’s card) and Jirou plays (Shindo’s card). Jirou wins. Next is (Hagakure VS Sato). Sato uses (Present Mic) and Hagakure uses (Koda). She wins the battle since game Present Mic is scared of bugs and that’s what game Koda uses to attack. Announcer Present Mic becomes quite upset and dejected after this battle.

Somewhere during the episode we see Izuku wondering how strong his own card is, and if it matches his current level of strength. Enters Katsuki! He finally comes to the common room. He’s upset because everyone is being loud and he can’t sleep. Denki and Eijirou tell him about the card game, and he immediately shows interest and asks about the strongest cards. He’s watching Izuku playing a game as Eijirou and Denki are telling him that apart from the teachers/pro heroes cards, Shouto and Izukus’ cards are strong. Katsuki walks up to the board asking Izuku for a battle using their own cards, and Izuku accepts. Game Katsuki is, well, interesting, sticking his tongue out a lot. The battle is intense. Both game Katsuki and game Izuku fight evenly.

Unlike previous games when a character is defeated from 1 attack, this one drags on as game Katsuki and game Izuku deliver blows to one another. Izuku notes during the battle that game Izuku is designed after ‘past Izuku, not current him. The battle ends when time’s up. It’s a tie, which completely upsets both Katsuki and Izuku. Katsuki sticks his head inside the holographic arena, complaining about his own character card and that he’d have done a better job. Izuku does the same thing, aka sticking his head inside the arena too and complaining about his own character card. For a rematch, they pick 1 random card. Katsuki ends up picking (All-Might), while Izuku’s card is.. a white dog. Everyone assumes the winner before the battle even starts. After all, Katsuki’s card is All-Might. Izuku becomes sad and dejected.

The battle starts. All-Might approaches the dog, and asks if the dog is lost/scared, then says you don’t have to worry anymore because “I Am Here!” He picks up the dog and flies towards the bound of the arena before disappearing. Yup, another tie. All-Might’s action lifts up Izuku’s spirit. He’s happy and smiling, seeing All-Might acting like the awesome hero that he is, saving the dog. On the other hand, Katsuki’s upset; his palms start to crackle. Everyone escapes before Katsuki explodes the board. Izuku doesn’t move, still thinking about AM and smiling, so he’s caught in the explosion. Then we see the dorms from the outside, getting affected by the explosion too. The students end up getting banned from playing the game.

This is where the OVA ends. Fans who’ve seen it absolutely loved the OVA as all their favorites had a role, even if it was a minor one. After the dark, destructive and action heavy approach of Season 6, we finally got to see our heroes relaxing and having fun together.
