The Boy And The Heron, or How Do You Live? is easily one of the biggest anime films of 2023. The Studio Ghibli latest is set to hit North America on December 8. And, it will be available to catch on large screens and the credit goes to IMAX. To celebrate the release, IMAX released a new poster to offer fans a closer look at the titular young boy. This film was supposed to be legendary Hayao Miyazaki’s final film. However, following The Boy and the Heron, Miyazaki changed his mind and is currently working on new ideas for Studio Ghibli.

Studio Ghibli Released The Boy And The Heron Poster

The Boy and the Heron hit theaters in Japan back in July (Kimitachi wa Do Ikiruka, or How Do You Live?) with little fanfare other than an enigmatic drawing of a heron. Here’s the official description for the animated film: “A young boy named Mahito yearning for his mother ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead. There, death comes to an end, and life finds a new beginning. A semi-autobiographical fantasy about life, death, and creation, in tribute to friendship, from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.”

The English Dub for the latest animated film will include popular Hollywood figures. It includes Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Gemma Chan, Robert Pattinson, Florence Pugh, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Mark Hamill, Luca Padovan, Mamoudou Athie, Tony Revolori, and Dan Stevens.

While The Boy and the Heron will arrive nationwide on IMAX on December 8th, you can catch the latest from Studio Ghibli earlier. On November 22, special preview screenings will be available in NYC and LA.
