Timothee Chalamet is probably the biggest young actor of this generation and his popularity is constantly rising. It is hard to not find Timothee in at least one project since 2014, and in 2021 the superstar had 4 projects to his name including a documentary. In 2022, he starred in two projects Bones and All as the lead and Netflix’ Entergalatic as the voice of Jimmy. Over the relatively short span of his career, he has delivered some terrific performances leading to his Oscar nomination for Call Me By Your Name (2017) and Golden Globe nomination for Beautiful Boy (2019). His list of highly acclaimed films also include Interstaller, Lady Bird, Little Women, Dune, and Don’t Look Up. So, fans are always looking forward to what he’ll do next and that is exactly what this list is about as it includes all confirmed, potential and rumored projects starring Timothee Chalamet. (Confirmed) Wonka
Most of you have heard of the character called Willy Wonka from Roald Dahl’s classic novel “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. In the 2006 film adaptation of the novel, Johnny Depp portrayed Wonka rather skillfully and was lauded by critics and audiences alike. The upcoming film Wonka, directed by Paul King serves as a prequel to the 2006 film and will feature Timothée Chalamet in the titular role of young Willy Wonka. The film also stars Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Tom Davis, Olivia Colman, and Hugh Grant in supporting roles. Wonka is all set to be released on December 15, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
(Confirmed) Dune: Part Two
Dune 2 was one of the most anticipated films of 2023 which got delayed due to SAG-AFTRA strikes and left fans highly disappointed. Following the events of Dune (2020), which took home 6 Oscars, Dune 2 is all set to complete the first book of the saga by Frank Herbert. Like the first part, the film has been directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars Timothée Chalamet in the lead role as Paul Atreides. Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Charlotte Rampling, and Javier Bardem reprise their roles from the first film, with Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux joining the ensemble cast. Dune: Part Two has now been pushed on to March 15, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
(Confirmed) A Complete Unknown
A Complete Unknown is an upcoming Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet and directed by James Mangold. The film was announced in 2020 only for it to be delayed indefinitely due to COVID-19, however, in April 2023 Mangold revealed that it was aiming to begin filming in August 2023. Alongside Timothee, the film will also star Elle Fanning as artist Sylvie Russo, Monica Barbaro as singer-songwriter Joan Baez, and Benedict Cumberbatch as folk music legend Pete Seeger. The film is also rumored to star Christian Bale and Nick Offerman in undisclosed roles. A Complete Unknown is expected to release by the end 2024 but the ongoing strikes might affect its filming which might push it back to 2025.
(Potential) Greta Gerwig’s Narnia
After the humungous success of Barbie, Greta Gerwig’s next directorial project are two Chronicles of Narnia films for Netflix. Gerwig has worked closely with Timothee in past as he was a major part of Lady Bird as well as Little Women. He also had a planned cameo in Barbie which failed to happen much to his regret. Greta has stated earlier that she considers Timothee and Saoirse Ronan to be like her children, and hence we can expect both of them to star in Gerwig’s Narnia adaptation. The expected release date for the film is sometime in 2025, as currently it is in very early stages of development.
(Potential) Entergalactic Part 2
Entergalactic was a surprise hit for Netflix in 2022 as it originally just served as a visual piece to a Kid Cudi song album of same name. In August 2022, Entergalactic was then redeveloped as a TV special which premiered on September 30, 2022, exclusively on Netflix, simultaneously with the album. In the special, Timothee Chalamet voiced the character of Jimmy, Jabari’s friend and drug dealer. As it happens, IndieWire reported that there are plans being made for Entergalactic Part 2, and if that’s the case we expect Timothee to be a part of it.
(Rumor) The Kardashians
Now this isn’t exactly a project but there have been some wild rumors that Timothee Chalamet is all set to appear on The Kardashians. If you are unaware, The Kardashians is an American reality television series which focuses on the personal lives of the Kardashian–Jenner family. It is basically a rejuvenated version of their previous reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which concluded in 2021 after a 20-season run. These rumors are based off another set of rumors involving a relationship between Timothee and Kylie Jenner. Hence, we’d ask you to take this information with a grain of salt.
