Coyote vs. Acme is a 2026 American comedy film directed by Dave Green and written by Samy Burch, who developed the story with James Gunn and Jeremy Slater. Loosely based on Ian Frazier’s 1990 The New Yorker article, the film follows Wile E. Coyote as he hires a billboard attorney to sue the Acme Corporation after its faulty products repeatedly leave him injured. The live-action animated film stars Will Forte, Lana Condor, Tone Bell, Luis Guzmán, Martha Kelly, P. J. Byrne, Kenneth Choi and John Cena, with Eric Bauza leading the voice cast.
The film screened at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, 2026, before its theatrical release in the United States on August 28 through Ketchup Entertainment. Coyote vs. Acme will be available to buy or rent digitally from platforms including Amazon Video and iTunes on September 29, 2026. The digital release comes just over a month after the film’s theatrical debut, giving audiences the opportunity to watch the live-action animated comedy at home.
Blu-ray and DVD Release Date
The Coyote vs. Acme physical media release is scheduled for November 9, 2026. The home video release will be available in multiple formats, including 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray and DVD. A Limited Edition SteelBook will also be available, featuring both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray versions of the film. Pre-orders for the physical release are already available through various retailers.
When Will Coyote vs. Acme Stream on Max?
An official subscription streaming date for Coyote vs. Acme has not yet been announced. However, the film is expected to make its streaming debut on Max, following the film’s theatrical and home entertainment run. Based on a standard window of around 105 days between the theatrical release and streaming debut, Coyote vs. Acme could arrive on Max around December 11, 2026. This would place the film’s streaming release roughly three and a half months after its August 28 theatrical debut, although the date remains an estimate until officially confirmed.
For now, September 29, 2026 is the confirmed digital release date, while November 9, 2026 for physical media and December 11, 2026 for Max remain the expected dates.
