Fast X Races To A New Box Office Milestone

Well, well, well, we have another Fast and Furious movie. Just like always there is someone from Dom’s past who is here to take his family away from him. This time it is Jason Momoa’s Dante who happens to be the highlight of this film. He is the only one who I think understood the assignment and while his performance might seem over the top for the purists, it is exactly what this film demanded. But then again, what are the purists doing watching Fast X? The tenth installment of the Fast franchise which is first of a three part finale, opened with $319 million at the worldwide box office (Domestic- $67 million, International- $252 million). These are blistering figures even if they’re below the Furious 7’s $397.6 million and Fate of the Furious’ $541.9 million. Now, in its second weekend the has crossed a major milestone at the worldwide box office.

Fast X Crosses $500 Million At The Worldwide Box Office!

Deadline reports that Fast X has crossed $500 million at the worldwide box office over the four-day Memorial Day weekend. $399.3 million of this total came from international markets while only $108 million came from the domestic markets of North America. The film made on a budget of $340 million has collected $507.26 million until now. These numbers puts the film above F9 and Hobbs and Shaw. The entire franchise has now crossed $7 billion globally.

We can clearly see a trend after the two box office reports, the film is working in international markets. However, the domestic performance of the film is concerning. For comparison, Fast X earned $80.3 million from China in its first weekend itself. While US box office has only added $108 million until now. It seems like Americans are getting over the Fast and Furious movies.

The film stars Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Charlize Theron, John Cena, Rita Moreno, Jordana Brewster, Scott Eastwood, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell and so on.
