Oppenheimer: Cillian Murphy Dons a Peaky Blinders Suit in BTS, Fan Posters and More

Christopher Nolan’s next film Oppenheimer is all set to release on 21st July, 2023 and the production is now underway. The film is based on the American theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is called the father of atomic bomb. He is also called the destroyer of worlds because his creation gave humans the power to level entire cities. Some sections of Nolan’s Oppenheimer will be shot in IMAX black & white analogue photography for the first time ever.

As usual, being a Nolan film it has an incredible cast ensemble with Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders) in the titular role. Rest of the cast includes Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Benny Safdie, Jack Quaid and Alden Ehrenreich. Cillian who earlier used to appear in small roles in Nolan films, is now the lead of his film, thanks to his tremendous Peaky Blinders’ popularity. There is no doubt he is one of the most brilliant actors for the role and the first look featured above suggests the same.

In the following tweet by @CMurphyFans, you’ll see a behind the scene’s clip of Cillian Murphy walking to the set donning a grey suit. This instantly reminded fans of his portrayal of Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders. Even his waking style matches Peaky Blinders, so we can 0expect his character portrayal of Oppenheimer to have some similarities with Tommy.

Nolan’s Oppenheimer Fan Posters

Fans have done it again. These fan made poster do not look fan made from any angle whatsoever and almost look too professional to be fan-made. The one on the right especially captures what Nolan’s trying to make this movie look like. The black and white poster also reminds you of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now. The left one seems like Tommy from Peaky Blinders with a hat, while the middle one is quite creative and includes Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. What do you think about these posters?
