Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Margot Robbie's Movie Gets A Positive Update!

Johnny Depp’s reputation is clear now after the court’s decision this year but it had taken quite a hit after Heard’s allegations. Disney was quick to distance itself from the actor by dropping him from the hugely successful franchise, The Pirates of the Caribbean. Depp played Captain Jack Sparrow and his portrayal of the character is believed to be the reason behind the success of the franchise. While Disney was dropped the actor making a political statement about their no tolerance policy against crime against women, but they didn’t want to stop their Pirates of the Caribbean franchise as they love money.

So, as they’d dropped Depp they had to replace him with someone to continue to franchise but instead of replacing Depp with a male actor, Disney planned to develop another Pirates of the Caribbean film with Margot Robbie. This certainly intrigued a lot of fans as Margot Robbie is one of the finest actors working in the industry and everyone would love to see Robbie’s iteration of Jack Sparrow even if they love Depp. The project was under development for a long time and everyone thought the movie will soon head into production but just last month Margot Robbie confirmed that the movie was shelved. However, just weeks after this news we have an update that says otherwise.

Margot Robbie’s Pirates of the Caribbean 6 Movie Can Still Happen?

In 2020, we received the first report that Disney intends to produce two reboots of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. One which will be written by series veteran Ted Elliot and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin. The second one was supposed to be a female led Pirates movie starring Margot Robbie as Captain Jack Sparrow. The movie was to be penned down by Christina Hodson. Jerry Bruckheimer who produced all the Pirates of the Caribbean films starring Johnny Depp was also attached to both the projects.

For a long time we didn’t have any updates regarding the reboots until Margot Robbie seemingly confirmed that her movie was shelved. However, Bruckheimer has given us an update regarding Margot Robbie’s movie which says otherwise. In a recent interview with Collider Bruckheimer addressed Robbie’s comments and said, “I think that that script will come forward at a certain point. We developed two different stories for Pirates and the other one’s going forward first, so that’s what we’re working on, to try to get that one made.”

While this doesn’t confirm the reboot but it definitely means that the film could happen sometime in the future. This also confirms that the Pirates franchise is set to be divided into two universes or timelines, where one is conventional and the other is Robbie’s.

Let me know what you think of this news. Do you think this is a hint on Johnny Depp’s return as Captain Jack Sparrow?
