The Eras Tour Movie’s Box Office Records Are Unbelievable!

The Hollywood Reporter felt proud to announce that Taylor Swift | Eras Tour Movie has grossed around $97 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend of 12th to 15th October, 2023. The figure looks better when you add another $31 to $33 million from other 94 international markets. As such, the concert movie is set to open with a whopping $126 to $130 million worldwide, breaking several records. Here is a list of all the previous records that the Taylor Swift starrer has broken.

  1. Eras Tour Movie is now the Best Opening for a Concert Movie. Previously this title was held by Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert in 2008 with $31.1 million but the Taylor Swift movie has beaten it with a substantial margin.
  2. Just in its opening weekend, the Eras Tour movie has managed to become the Highest Grossing Concert Film (domestic & worldwide) ever beating Justin Bieber: Never Say Never’s $71 million. The $31 to $33 million from other 94 international markets makes the film’s global cume $125-130 million making the Taylor Swift flick the highest-grossing concert movie ever worldwide and even the first to ever cross $100 million, going far above the $99 million of Never Say Never.
  3. Taylor Swift is apparently bigger than Marvel as she has just snatched the record of Highest Single Day Presale ever. With an estimated $30 million in presales across AMC, Cinemark, and Regal toppling the $16 million record of Avengers: Endgame.
  4. The craze of this film is truly unparalleled. To only further The Eras Tour’s box office success, the movie opened in more theaters than any concert film before now. The Taylor Swift release came to 3850 theaters, topping the record 3481 of Michael Jackson’s This Is It in 2009.
