The trailer for the new movie under the Godzilla franchise is back to strike fears in the hearts of fans and casual viewers. Toho’s next kaiju movie, Godzilla Minus One is imminent and we could not be more excited. The official synopsis for the movie reads, “After the war, Japan’s economic state has been reduced to zero. Godzilla appears and plunges the country into a negative state.” Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, this is the 33rd installment in the Godzilla franchise.

All about Godzilla Minus One

The movie is set to premiere on November 1st at the Tokyo International Film Festival. It then expands theatrically in Japan on November 3rd. Toho International is supposed to release the movie in the USA on December 1st — a month from its official premiere. The movie will be featured in multiple formats: IMAX, 4DX, and MX4D.

The cast of the movie comprises Ryunosuke Kamiki as Kōichi Shikishima, Minami Hamabe as Noriko Ōishi, Yuki Yamada as Shirō Mizushima and Munetaka Aoki as Sōsaku Tachibana. The trailer indicates that the Japanese government would be left to deal with Japanese forces on their own terms, with severely weakened armed forces. What is to be seen how prominently the movie zooms in on nuclear war iconography. For now, we can only wait for the movie and its release.
