Marvel Cinematic Universe is a force to be reckoned with and one thing which has made MCU so big is its shared universe crossovers and references. We see some or the other references to the greater Marvel universe in every project of MCU and that is how it has been since 2008’s Iron Man. One of the connecting ties of MCU has been Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury as he brought all these characters who we love together. But ever since Endgame he has been out in space living among the Skrulls trying to figure something out. Well, Marvel’s Secret Invasion is where we learn what Fury has been up to and what possible role he’d play in the future of MCU.
Watch Secret Invasion Leaked Trailer from SDCC 2022
Marvel made it difficult to breathe at SDCC 2022 as it poured in a bucket lot of information on the fans including Phase 5 and Phase 6 plans. While most of the information is public, certain trailers and footages were only showcased to the Hall H audience and Marvel’s Secret Invasion was one of those trailers. Following is an unclean footage of the same trailer, and rest assured that we’ll update it as cleaner footage arrives. So have a look and enjoy.
Nick Fury returns to Earth and emerges via the light of a spaceship. He is talking to Smulders’ Maria Hill at a bar who states she’s been unsucessfully trying to reach him for years. Maria asks Nick why after all the time he decided to come back to which Nick replies there was an issue that needed his attention. Apparently, Smulders wasn’t exaggerating when she said the series is a dark thriller, as we get quick glimpses of an intense Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Emilia Clarke shooting a gun, Kingsley Ben-Adir with shape-shifting heavies
Among this, Olivia Colman is seen talking to Nick Fury saying “you’re in no shape for this Fury.” We also glimpse Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross. Secret Invasion certainly looks like one of the darker Disney+ series, almost giving off a Captain America: The Winter Soldier vibe. But the vibe that fans summed it up with was none other than the vibe of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In fact, fans are expecting a Quake (Chloe Bennet) cameo in the series.
