Wonder Woman 3 Has Been Sacked Again by DC

Fans have been thrown into a flurry of confusion with the sudden onslaught of contradictory reports surrounding Wonder Woman 3 and its development. Gal Gadot recently said a few things about the possible making of the movie and her reprising the role while there has been no confirmation regarding the same from DC, or James Gunn – who is always quick to call off any speculation with the quickest and clearest response.

The Israeli actress has starred as Wonder Woman in the DCU till date, and in the first two Wonder Woman movies directed by Patty Jenkins. However, DC is going through some major creative changes right now with James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm of the DC studios. In December, last year, it was unveiled that the plans for WW 3 had fallen through when the leadership transferred into the hands of the duo. Jenkins, who left the project but insisted that he was on good terms with Safran and Gunn. The director also said that he understood the creative overhaul at DC Studios was bound to change a few things, and Wonder Woman 3 falling through had not created any unnecessary bad blood.

While Gunn and Safran unveiled their plans of a new revamped DCU, which involves Superman Legacy with new castings for Superman and Lois Lane, they did not reveal anything about a new Wonder Woman movie. They are developing a prequel series to Wonder Woman, but they will probably cast a fresh face for the role.

Gadot set all the fires aflame when a new profile of hers was published with her talking frankly about the development of WW 3 and how she will be reprising the role soon. The actress told Flaunt Magazine, “I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran,” and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.” While this seriously creates the air of rumors around the development, neither heads of DC Studios nor Warner Bros. have said anything regarding the same.

So, how things will turn out, as Gadot said, only time can tell.
