Wonka: Official Trailer Opens Up A New World For Timothee Chalamet!

When it comes to the new generation of actors, I think there is a definite stand out – Timothee Chalamet. The charismatic actor at first used to appear in small roles in films like Interstellar. However, in recent years the man has risen to unimaginable heights. And to the point where he doesn’t even give an audition for the role he is scouted for. Chalamet simply signs the movie he is offered if he wants to. I don’t think so there is any other actor of this generation has such standards of stardom. Whenever a young actor is required to lead a film especially a franchise or IP film, it is highly unlikely that Timothee Chalamet’s name fails to come up under consideration. Talking about IP films, Chalamet is set to appear in Wonka this year and the trailer for the same was released just now.

Wonka Trailer Takes A Different Take On The Iconic Character!

Willi Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a highly influential film that came out in the 70s. The Willi Wonka character has become iconic ever since then. In the film at least, he was portrayed in villainous light, so, the casting of Timothee Chalamet was questionable for me. However, now that I’ve seen the trailer it is clear that the man can do no wrong. Chalamet is as charismatic as he can be and the comic timing of the actor on point as well. The trailer looks amazing to me with good visuals and a fantastic story.

It is really a different take on the character of Willi Wonka. I love how they’ve built the world of the story and also the entire of the vibe of the film. The treatment is on point something we can expect from Paul King (Paddington, Paddington 2). I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the first half of 2023 was nothing in comparison to the movies that are impending. If it wasn’t before, Wonka is definitely on my list of most anticipated movies of this year.
