DC is in a rush to get on with its first film in James Gunn’s rebooted DCU. For two weeks or so, DCU has been in Hollywood headlines as the James Gunn led universe seems to be having so many announcements about the newly cast members for the film. The proceedings began with Maria Gabriela de Faria when she was cast as The Engineer. Soon after that we had the huge announcement of Nicholas Hoult being cast as the supervillain Lex Luthor. Hoult was circling the role of Superman which was eventually given to David Corenswet , who was a fan favorite for the part. Along with Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan was also cast Lois Lane. Now, we have more announcements about important additions to the film’s cast. Check out all the confirmed actors for Superman: Legacy below:

David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent!

James Gunn’s quest for his Superman has come to an end as the inspiring filmmaker has finally found the Man of Tomorrow who will lead Superman: Legacy and DCU. David Corenswet who appeared in Ti West’s Pearl and is in the upcoming sequel to Twister. The actor was in several fancasts, DC fans pleaded the studio to finalize the actor as Henry Cavill’s replacement.

Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane!

Along with Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan has also been announced as Lois Lane. The casting points towards how DC trying to give the fans what they want. A report has told us that James Gunn was blown away by her audition for Lois Lane, so her casting doesn’t surprise me. I wished Emma Mackey was cast although, I understand she doesn’t look like a generic white American woman. Her features are very French. All past Lois Lane actresses share a similar look, something which Brosnahan possesses.

Maria Gabriela de Faria as Angela Spica/The Engineer!

Maria Gabriela de Faria has been cast in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy as the super-powered blockbuster Angela Spica (aka The Engineer), becoming the very first big bad from the new superhero universe to be announced. Faria’s previous credits include Fox’s Animal Control and The Moodys, but Superman marks the actress’ major motion picture debut. The Engineer is most well known for her involvement in the supervillain team The Authority, a group that has its own DC film in the works at Warner Bros.

Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor!

Nicholas Hoult who had put his name in the running for the role of Superman in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, has been cast as Lex Luthor in the DCU. For the first time that the new DC Universe has found its supervillain in the form of Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Hoult will be the replacement for DCEU’s Jesse Eisenberg, whose last appearance came during Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen!

Skyler Gisondo will play the role of Jimmy Olsen. In the comics, Jimmy Olsen is a photographer and friend of Clark and Lois who works at The Daily Planet. Olsen also has had on screen iterations played by Marc McClure in the original Superman movies starring Christopher Reeve. He was later played by Sam Huntington in Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns, and again by Michael Cassidy in Henry Cavill’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Gisondo is best known for HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza. He also has some superhero movie experience, as he previously played Howard Stacy, brother to Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy, in both Amazing Spider-Man films.

Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher!

Sara Sampaio has been cast as Eve Teschmacher. She is the assistant-turned-love interest of Lex Luthor. This role has been previously brought to life by Valerie Perrine in the Christopher Reeve films and Andrea Brooks on The CW’s series Supergirl. Sampaio is a Portuguese model with best known for being a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Sampaio is a Giorgio Armani beauty ambassador and works for Calzedonia. Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl!

Isabela Merced has been circling the industry circuits for a while now where she has done roles in films like Sweet Girl, Dora and the Lost of Gold, Transformers: The Last Knight and the upcoming Madame Web. Merced has also managed to find a place for herself in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy as Hawkgirl aka Kendra Saunders.

Edi Gathegi as Mr. Terrific/Michael Holt!

James Gunn wants his Superman to enter in the world where superhero already exists and he is not the first one. One of the superheroes that Corenswet’s Man of Steel will enter with is Mr. Terrific aka Michael Holt who will be played by Edi Gathegi. The actor played the character previously on The CW’s Arrow. This won’t be Gathegi’s first time in a superhero role, as he once played the (kind of) immortal mutant Darwin in 2011’s X-Men: First Class.

Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern/Guy Gardener!

Gunn will reunite with Nathan Fillion who has been a frequent collaborator of the director, having once worked with him on all three Guardians of the Galaxy movies and The Suicide Squad. Fillion will play the role of famous DC superhero Green Lantern aka Guy Gardener. However, only time will tell if Fillion will reprise the role for the Lantern series on Max.

Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho/Rex Mason!

Gotham and Barry actor Anthony Carrigan will play Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho, in Superman: Legacy, with the Justice League character having the power to transform his body into different elemental compounds. James Gunn expressed his excitement to work with Carrigan in a post on X (previously known as Twitter), “I am unbelievably excited for Metamorpho (and this opportunity to work with Anthony Carrigan.)” Gunn further added on Instagram, “Metamorpho is one of my all-time favorite characters and I’m unbelievably excited by how we’re bringing him to the screen in ‘Superman: Legacy’ – and equally excited about working with [Anthony Carrigan].”
