In the recent two weeks or so, DCU has been in the headlines of Hollywood as the James Gunn led universe seems to be moving at rapid pace for their feature – Superman: Legacy. We have had so many announcements about the newly cast members for the film. The proceedings began with Maria Gabriela de Faria when she was cast as The Engineer. Soon after that we had the huge announcement of Nicholas Hoult being cast as the supervillain Lex Luthor. Hoult was circling the role of Superman which was eventually given to David Corenswet , who was a fan favorite for the part. Along with Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan was also cast Lois Lane. Now, we have another two important additions to the film’s cast.

Superman: Legacy Cast Adds Two More Members!

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Skyler Gisondo will play the role of Jimmy Olsen and Sara Sampaio has been cast as Eve Teschmacher. In the comics, Jimmy Olsen is a photographer and friend of Clark and Lois who works at The Daily Planet while Teschmacher is the assistant-turned-love interest of Lex Luthor. This role has been previously brought to life by Valerie Perrine in the Christopher Reeve films and Andrea Brooks on The CW’s series Supergirl.

Olsen also has had on screen iterations played by Marc McClure in the original Superman movies starring Christopher Reeve. He was later played by Sam Huntington in Brandon Routh’s Superman Returns, and again by Michael Cassidy in Henry Cavill’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Gisondo is best known for HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones and Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza. He also has some superhero movie experience, as he previously played Howard Stacy, brother to Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy, in both Amazing Spider-Man films.

Sampaio is a Portuguese model with best known for being a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Sampaio is a Giorgio Armani beauty ambassador and works for Calzedonia. Her movie experience information is not available.

Superman: Legacy is the first movie in the new DC slate and is supposed to release on 11th July 2025.
