Marvel Only 3 MCU Shows Are Confirmed To Arrive On Disney Plus In 2023!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe completed its Infinity Saga in 2019. The 23 movies that Marvel made in the 11 years of the Infinity Saga were focused on the characters that Marvel had the rights to. The end of Phase 3 marked Marvel’s entry into into TV shows. Since 2020, Marvel has started something that they’ve never done before, broadening their horizon. Marvel made 7 films in Phase 4 and 9 TV shows. We’ve gotten about 60 hours worth of content from Marvel combined. However, one thing that can’t be denied is that Phase 4 has not particularly worked for Marvel. Except for a rare success in Spider-Man: No Way Home and TV shows like Loki, Marvel is struggling to keep their audience hooked to their content, especially when it comes to TV shows.

In 2022, no Marvel movie went past $1 Billion despite their budgets skyrocketing. The closest was Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with $955 Million. Marvel phase 4 was filled with mediocrity and with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever marks the end of Phase 4 and along with that 2022 also, comes to a close. Phase 5 will begin next year with Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania. Just like this year, there were a lot of shows planned to release next year as Kevin Feigi has revealed the slated at San Diego Comic Con 2022. However, after unveiling the entire Multiverse Saga with more than 10 shows and movies, however as many Marvel shows are facing production issues they’re being delayed making next Marvel releases list a bit thin.

Which Marvel Shows Are Confirmed for 2023?

When it comes to TV shows, 2023 was a packed year for Marvel as the studio had releases like What If…? Season 2 was confirmed for early 2023, Echo for Summer 2023, X-Men 97 for Fall 2023, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos for Winter 2023. However, we’re all aware that the Agatha shows are certainly facing some issues as there are multiple reports that the show is facing a delay. All the fans were certainly excited about all these shows but now Disney+ Japan has released a list of all the shows that will hit the streaming service next year.

The list is extremely short as only three shows are confirmed for 2023, they’re:

  1. Secret Invasion starring Samuel L. Jackson, Emilia Clarke and Cobie Smulders. Set to premiere in early 2023, the show is a thriller that will deal with shape-shifting Skrulls, bringing one important question to the forefront – are the characters in this show truly who they say they are?
  2. Ironheart starring Dominique Thorne, Anthony Ramos and Manny Montana. The show is set to debut on Disney+ in Fall 2023. Riri Williams as a character made her first appearance in this year’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is now getting her own show which would be a mixture of Science and Magic as evidenced by The Hood as a villain.
  3. Loki Season 2 stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino. The second season of the hit Marvel series will debut on the streaming platform in Summer 2023 and light up all the Marvel fans with an action packed adventure. The new season would give us the answers to what Sylvie’s actions will result into.

Other then these three, there are no other shows listed by the site, despite Kevin Feigi telling us. The other shows that I mentioned will get new release dates that will be sometime in 2024. We might even get new release dates for these shows at San Diego Comic Con 2023.

MCU’s newest film – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is playing in theatres near you. Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania will release in theatres near you on 17th February 2023.
