Finally after being delayed for ten months, Marvel’s Blade is finally heading into production. These delays are not good as according to many reports  these production issues have caused major upset to lead star Mahershala Ali. He is extremely frustrated with the process. Hopefully, Blade will stick to this filming date and the rest of the film’s production won’t face any issues. This new phase is really making Marvel work hard as lot of things are starting to go against them. Let’s hope, this will be Marvel’s last production issue. However, today’s news will definitely put a smile on every Marvel fans’ faces. After months of speculation the Mahershala Ali starrer has finally embraced its source material in its truest fashion. What I mean is, Blade will now be rated “R”.

Blade Joins Deadpool 3 As The Only Two R-Rated Marvel Films!

In a new interview from Deadline, director Yann Demange revealed that his Blade reboot has been green lit by Marvel as a R-rated affair. Demange expressed how getting an R-rated was such a huge relief for him as it was extremely necessary for the film if a proper adaptation was to be done. The director also praised actor Mahershala Ali by saying, “I come out of this wanting to be more open, more vulnerable and bring a more personal aspect to my work. But for ‘Blade,’ we are going to have fun because Mahershala is such a deep actor.”

He further added, “I’m excited to show a kind of ruthlessness, a roughness he has, that allows him to walk the earth in a particular way. I love him for that. He’s got a dignity and integrity, but there is a ferocity there that he usually keeps under the surface. I want to unleash that and put it on the screen.”

Marvel’s Blade Reboot is slated to release on September 6th 2024.
