X-Men Giancarlo Esposito's Explains his Version of Professor X!

Giancarlo Esposito, one of the legends of the TV world is set to debut in the MCU. He played Gus Fring in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Stan Edgar in the The Boys and Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian. He has played cold and terrifying villains in four of the biggest shows of recent times. While a lot of people have fan casted him as Dr. Doom and honestly I think that is the best role he can play but it looks like he wants a change of pace after playing villains in The Mandalorian, The Boys, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. He mentioned that he’d like to play the leader of the X-Men – Professor X. He even mentioned he might be interested in playing another major X Men character – Magneto.

Honestly, I would love if he plays Dr. Doom, one of the biggest Marvel villains. Esposito said, “So, there’s been talk of Magneto, there’s been talk of Dr. Freeze, there has been talk of, who else are they talking about over there? Oh, Doom! And there is Professor X. Pick one? I’m going to go for something that is a little bit different. I’m going to go and put it out in the universe that it is Professor X.

X-Men: Esposito’s Professor X Different from Patrick Stewart?

I think we’re all aware of what talent Esposito is. Amongst his smaller roles in Hollywood like in The Usual Suspects, he has slowly become a TV legend. The charisma he brings to any character. The depth any character gets just because he is played by Esposito is simply remarkable. Him joining the MCU is one of the most exciting news I have gotten this month. The news was confirmed when Esposito mentioned his meetings with Marvel.

The Breaking Bad star made an appearance on TJH Superhero Car Show & Comic Con in San Antonio, he mentioned, So, I have not worked for Marvel yet. I’ve been in a room with them and talked with them, and to answer your question, I think what they do is on the lines of that mythological journey that Joe Campbell talked about, who happened to be a friend of George Lucas that George Lucas put into his stories. They do the same thing.”

However, in a recent interview at Fan Expo in Boston with Liam Crowley of the ComicBook.com the actor expanded on his previous statements. He talked about what would his version of Professor X will be like. It appears significantly different from Patrick Stewart (Fox’ X-Men)’s version. He is channeling his inner villain into the character that would make his Professor X a much deeper take on the character. Like every character he has played his Professor X will be another gem in his flawless career. Esposito mentioned, “I’d play that character with force, grace, and a calm. Someone who controls the chaos, but someone who also has the ability to uplift and inspire.”

MCU’s upcoming film – Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will release in theatres on 11th November 2022.
