Emma Mackey, Asa Butterfield, Ncuti Gatwa and many others had their breakout role in 2019’s Sex Education after which they experienced a sudden rise to fame. Mackey starred in films like Death on the Nile, Barbie and Emily. Gatwa appeared in Doctor Who and Barbie. After season three’s end, the future of Sex Education was unsure because of heavy cast departures. One of the names were also Emma Mackey, however, at the end Mackey decided to return for Sex Education season 4. The fourth installment of the show is reported to be very different simply because of all the cast changes and the big story overhaul. Many months back we’d heard that season 4 will be Mackey’s last and it was very difficult for us to imagine the show without her. Well, we don’t have to. Netflix just released a teaser for Sex Education season 4 and it confirms that season 4 is definitely the final one.
Sex Education Season 4 Will Be The Final Season!
The teaser for Sex Education season 4 is exactly what we wanted it to be- full of fun, excitement, emotions and a reckoning of the end. We are teased about the New York City storyline of Maeve, Eric and Otis’ new school and how sex education becomes the part of everything. We see Dan Levy’s character in action. Ruby and Otis’ subplot continues further, we know how roughly things ended last time. Interestingly we don’t see Maeve and Otis in one frame in the entire teaser. Jean’s new life adjusting with Jakob and the new baby is also teased.
With such interesting stories to tell, Sex Education looks like the ideal series to binge watch in the fall. Yes, the series is releasing this year in September on the streaming giant. I’ll be honest I’m not excited for any show more than this. Let’s hope it is worth it.
